I have a 2006 6MT TSX and my second battery just kicked the bucket. I'm worried these crappy OEM batteries put undue stress on the alternator. Heading to Advance Auto Parts to get my Autocraft battery put in (VG by Consumer Reports).

The stealership is too busy this weekend and I'm not getting stranded... ugh...

I bought my TSX in July 2006. In Nov 2008, the battery died and I got a new one from Acura as it was under warranty. Service guy said it probably wouldn't last either. A woman there said hers went out after a week. Sept 2009, battery went out again. Still under warranty. Acura replaced it. This Aug. 2012, the 3rd battery conked out. Got a new one from AAA Roadside assistance with a 6 year guarantee. Also swapped out the OEM Tires a short time after purchase. Car runs great, however, the original OEM battery & tires don't

I know it seems that everyone has had problems with their battery (since all we get are complaints here), but we got over 4 years (and 100k+ miles) out of the OE batteries in our TSX's. And they were replaced just to be on the safe side, they never gave us any problems. I would like to remind everyone once again that we represent just a sliver of those that own/rent/drive a TSX. And even with that, it seems a very small percentage of those here that have had problems. I'm inclined to agree that the Honda batteries are probably not among the best, but.... we really have no way of knowing how they stack up against the multitude of other batteries, both OE and replacement in the big picture.

The OEM Michelín tires lasted 74k+ miles on our 06 tsx without problems. The OEM battery was replaced at 3+ years and 90k+ miles by the dealer. They said it tested low even tho I was not having any problems. My tsx will be 6 years old in Nov.
