It is a definite improvement but still needs some work. Hell..everything needs to be improved from the outside. The interior is the only nicest thing about this car.

Well here in Arizona every dealer here has to compete with each other and its a big demand for aftermarket parts from the factory. It's too bad most dealers go the wrong direction when it comes to fixing their cars up. Plus we have the weather for nice rides all year long(Summers a hot one, but after that its all great)
what dealership are you from?? i want to check it out! don't u have PM?

Wow, dealerships are going nuts trying to fix the mistake that Acura design made. Pretty sad if you ask me. Honestly I feel sorry for the designers at the Acura Design Center. Something tells me that upper management forced this one on them - a desperate move to create a "design identity" for all of Acura.

Hey, thought everybody might want to see this. My friends at Jay Wolfe Acura in Kansas City have spiffed up one of their new TL's with the underbody spoilers, 19" wheels and a painted grille. Please excuse the picture quality, they sent it to me in a text message.

The painted beak (black above) definitely looks better to me.
er... whats up with the retro plastic molding on the side? I recall seeing this on one of the spy shots - I guess it really is an option? <--- I pray this isn't the case.

eeesh, it's one thing for online PS jobs to show up, but when dealers start painting the grille to correct a design defect, that's another thing entirely.
Of the pics available, I like the grey TL with the frame of the grille painted (leaving just the beak), but I can't believe Acura designed a vehicle so off-target that dealers are painting body parts to make it easier to sell.

I remember when the shield came out on the MDX everyone hated it, and many people painted and changed it. Now I think it really looks good. Maybe if we weren't so hard on that grill we would not be looking at this ugly beak. I don't know maybe Acura has some super designers who know that we will like it in the future.

The painted beak does camoflauge it some and looks better....but I still think that they should've ended the grille at the hood crease...would've looked lightyears better. My neighbour just bought a khaki colour base 4G TL and while the car looks good from certain angles, I just can't get past that beak!!!

I agree!!
Sign me up for a 4gTL SH-AWD-BLACK!!! At least this dealer has some design IQ. What a difference: color beak, tires and lower body effects. I must say that black is the best color Grill/Beak that I have seen.

More dealers to paint the grille...
I just got back from Weir Canyon Acura (SoCal) after dropping off our MDX for brakes/alignment/VTM-4 and talked with the service advisor about the new TL. He said customer response has been lukewarm (obviously the economy is partially to blame) and that they're going to start painting the grille (outer frame, center beak remains silver) to minimize customer concerns about the large grille.
The interesting thing he said was that as a dealer, they don't mind painting the grille because it allows them to sell a "custom" TL and charge more for it...but I couldn't help but thinking that customers are not going to line up to buy even more expensive TLs when they should have been designed properly from the factory in the first place

SICKKKK... Love black on the TL in the first place, and the rims and body kit only add to the beauty. The grille look pretty good like that, i would like to see that on the road! or can you post some more pics!!
