RIP I said goodbye to her today

Hey Azine, well today the insurance company towed her away, she had gone through a 15 minute pounding of golf ball sized hail, although the damage doesn't look bad in pictures, she became a golfball and the insurance wanted to total her.

Had her for 7 years and put 100,000 miles on her. The last odometer reading was 216,998 All I ever did besides the regular maintenance was the timing belt service.

What a great car. She will be missed.

RIP I said goodbye to her today-hwetzpl.jpg

Sorry to hear about your loss. Your CL looked exactly like mine. I can feel your loss as I've grown attached to it after owning it since 07. I put in 162K miles & it is still running strong. Had the misfortune of smacking it on the right bumper area today after exiting the Lincoln Tunnel in New York side. Damn sun glare just blinded me for a second & the concrete barrier just appeared all of a sudden.

Called my insurance guy this afternoon & they'll be out next week to take a look. Hopefully, I can squeeze 8 more lives out of this kitty. Plan to keep it as long as I can.

What are your plans? Get another CL?

That's too bad! I saw an episode of Boyd Coddington show where they used heat around the edge of the hail damage and it would pop out.....

Not sure if you want to buy it back as a salvage or not.....

Very nice looking car.

Since buying mine and looking over this site. Glad I did!

Another CL? 6sp perhaps? I see a couple on CL here in Sacramento for 6sp CLS'

Sorry to hear man, I had the same thing happen to my 99 TL last year...insurance company totaled the vehicle and gave me a nice piece of change. Any idea on what you want to get next?

unless you had broken glass, you could have just kept the car (buy back) and pocket the change.

The salvage part I didn't like, which is why I let them take it. I haven't seen many CLS6 around here at all!

I hear you on that! I had a wonderful running 2000 GMC Yukon that I traded, 202,000+ miles on the clock. I was bored and a couple of little things wrong, stuck on defrost (mode door), CEL for a broken Vapor Canister and one of the fog lights broke off. Other than that, ran perfect.

Got a good deal on my car though, runs, shifts awesome.

Mini's are cool!

I kinda like the 500L's the regular 500's did poor in crash tests!
