Oh, yippee, another big, fat, slow, expensive "crossover" that has less room than any station wagon, yet is as difficult to enter or park as a truck-based SUV.
I hope Acura takes the body and uses it as a template for the next-gen TL, then drops the crossover idea like a ton of bricks.

i hate it, maybe because i dont love acura as much as everyone else on the boards and maybe because these cuv pos's are nonsense but i hate every little thing about it. yes i understand it will have a nice interior and will be built very well and will be very high up in reliability, still dont care one bit for it

I don't get it. Why does Acura insist on building an expensive (suv/crossover/wagon?) that plays in a very specific niche market, when they could have spent their R&D money much more wisely on developing a nice, sporty RWD/SH-AWD coupe based on the TL or better yet, the TSX to compete in the continuily growing sport coupe market?!?? If they wanna step up and compete with BMW, they should make a car that can actually challenge BMW's 3 series instead of going for an all or nothing approach of taking on one of BMW's "premium SAV's."
I don't get it. It.....Just.....Doesn't.....Make......Any....Sense !
Sorry, but Acura really needs to get their priorities straight.
I sure hope, for Acura's sake, that this doesn't end up like another underwhelming sales performer like the RL.
I guess only time will tell.

The only explanation I can offer up is this is platform sharing at its best...or worst depending on your perspective.

Ooooh, this thing is much better looking than the X6! I like the toned down "power plenum" grille too. The whole thing looks very European. I like it!
Sadly, I bet you the real thing will look nothing like this, esp. that grille!!! I think that they will keep using that scary "power plenum" thing across the board... LOL

Call me crazy....
... but I think this their first true t1 effort.
Look at the lines.
Let's avoid the talk about the need for the vehicle, or whatever, most things in the luxury market are unnecessary, so that point is silly.
But if rumors are true and it introduces the 6-speed, and looks as good as the teasers indicate, we have a hit. (not to mention a 6-speed for the MDX this MMC).

I think we're going to see some max plenum here, given the space between the headlights.
I think acura can pull it off... this looks to be like to beautiful a design for them to ruin with a bad plenum.

It's difficult to call it a "concept":
from the spyshots of the interior this thing is READY for the launch in New York...
I'm sure that it will be on sell in September 2009...
and: this thread is not already merged somewhere??

This might actually come out looking nice.......or completely terrible. Either or from looking at those teasers.
Someone wake me up when there's a coupe for sale at the dealership. Thanks.

Does anyone feel that sales of this vehicle will canablize sales of the MDX? I haven't read the whole thread so i don't know what their target pricing is, but the MDX is priced so high already, I can't see this guy selling for higher than that. And selling it for lower will hurt RDX sales IMO or MDX sales.

And it will be strictly 5 seats, not 7 (I have never used the 3d road in my MDX, however...)
I mean: if your dog is BIG buy an MDX... the boot in this CUV seems much smaller.

What Would Don Draper Do?
i'm liking it a lot so far. of course, we don't see the beak...yet/
on the lines. it looks amazing.
it's amazing how different the final outcome can be if we see the beak, huh?
+1.
thought that too.
dunno about that.
if you're looking for a true SUV with a third row, people are still gonna go for the MDX.
maybe they'll price it in between the RDX and MDX? or maybe the quantity will be low like the X6? i wouldn't be surprised if they even try and sell it for more than the MDX.

The design, is already a step forward, even if the rest of the car is hideous.
Let's see what the equipment/performance is on this thing, but I think we have the first T1 acura on our hands here.
