Hi Guys! Eric, thanks for the offer-I might take you up on it!

I finally spoke to the Kansas Speedway. I don't think they will allow us on the track, but they have a Richard Petty Racing Experience that we can do. I'm supposed to get more information from them this week. I'll keep you posted.

 

I did the Richard Petty Experience in Daytona several years ago and it was amazing! Kinda spendy as I remember, but well worth the price!

 

Cant wait to get the official date so I can take off work.

 

Forgot to ask/tell you this Fri night. From what I remember this is not a quick in/out thing. I think there is a classroom thing you have to sit through first and then some other instructing. I wanna say it takes 3-4 hours to do

 

^^^ as discussed with Steve, there are couple options:

1> No training no nothing, u just sit in a nascar as a passenger
2> 3-4 hours training and you drive the nascar
3> you drive your car between safety cars (speed controlled by them)

I will let Steve post the prices and other details....

No!

But there has to be some way to break it up so you can enjoy the show and not have to sit at a computer the whole show. Not to mention bring your computer and all, that is all I have ever seen you do there!

We as a GROUP need to fix that, for you!

So, Steven, when on a weekend are you free to sit down and start to lay some things out, you know get the ball rolling?

I'd say our 1st thing to accomplish is to see if/ when Jay Wolfe wants to host us. I assume it'll be a Sunday as always. Get on it!

 

^^^ Eric, that's a good idea. I know that Jay Wolfe is already in for this year. And yes, it will be on Sunday. But I'm working on the Saturday night event at the Kansas Speedway now.

I'm looking at the 2nd weekend of June for the meet.

The "drive your car on the track" deal sounds like an ideal plan.

 

Since I've been doing the KC meet with Steven the only time I've been able to get out and see the cars for any length of time was the year or two that I ended up being one of the judges.

I'd love to be able to participate and enjoy my time at the meet but honestly the Judging process requires my full attention. It's not easy to keep everything running smoothly. Heck just getting the judges organized and together in one place is a nightmare at times.

When I ran a couple of meets up in MN with Spiritman I was able to participate more but we only had about 20 cars so it was much easier.

Sean, I think what ERIC is trying to say is, if we coordinate as a TEAM (rather than you individually), you will be able to come out and enjoy a little sun too

 

I know and I'm trying to think how that will work out. It's one thing saying it but another when you know all that has to go on.

but someone can take care of registration while you check the sexy cars outside and someone can take care of judging and so on....

Lets all meet sometime this weekend or when everyone has some time and go over whats to be done about this
