A really amazing looking car, and so much more reasonably sized than the newer 7-Series.

I've always had a soft spot for those things. Great looking cars.

Such a good looking car.
Tricky to find in a decent condition though.

E38 is the best looking 7 series ever made, I love that bodystyle! Plus I love the E39 too, these two come from one of the best BMW generations IMO....besides the E28.

Dont know too much about BMWs
but this looks a lot sportier than the current 7 series. Why the direction change?

One of the best designs out there, personally speaking.

I prefer the size and proportions of the '97-'03 5-Series when it comes to styling (not a huge fan of large sedans to begin with) but this design 7-Series always looks great.

Classic BMW The E65/66 got the point across but wasn't as agressive as it needed to be, and then new F01/F02 is going back to it's roots! Only issue is with BMW making all of it's cars looking the same!

Either way, BMW has done an outstanding job with the 7. I can say that most newer 7's command respect like the E38 did.

The last great looking 7-series. The early 2000's were the pinnacle of BMW styling....

I've always been very fond of that era of BMW styling. I find the 2002-2003 5er and 7-Series to be the best of the generation.

I agree, but I might be biased though, I love my E39 .

That picture with the M parallel rims is gorgeous.

There was one of those parked in a drive way for sale and I was itching to test drive it. Looked like it needed a lot of work. Guy wanted $2500 for it.

A picture of my dad "enjoying" his. Kidding aside it has something between 215 and 220 thousand miles and it feel rock solid. I wouldn't worry too much driving it cross country at least.

You know what, that is genius.... don't know why I ever thought to lay like that to work on a car under the dash. Usually end up laying on my back sideways on the door sill, not a comfortable position.

Unfortunately they had the manual transmission 7-series in Europe but not over here Still looks good today though, a good example from the prime of modern BMW styling IMO.

Slightly off topic, but check out this V10 swapped E30, I would love to do this to my E28.

According to the all knowing wikipedia it was a 750i one-off manual transmission rebadged as a 735i... Who knows whether that is true.

Are the V12's in the 750iL at all reliable? I've been looking at 2001 750's and they are beastly looking cars...

how much does the M5 V10 weigh? I know its almost a racing engine but it might screw up the balance of an E30

and there is no such thing as a reliable V12
