I have Nexen N3000 245/35/20s and theyre decent, pretty quiet and nice ride, not as grippy as the ones I had before though.

I had nexen's on my previous TL, 2 I had no problems with, 2 bubbled within 1000 miles of install. I wouldnt buy them again, but thats just my 2 cents.

Why would you cheap out on the only part of the car that touches the ground?

Buy nothing from Korea. Read some of the magazine tire reviews. They absolutely suck in every category.

I have nexen 3000. I put 9,000 mi on them since I bought the car. They are good tires, I havent had any problems with them. Wish they did better in rain. Good thing is that they look to have plenty of tread left considering these are "cheap" performance tires.

I put some of these on only because I was planning on upgrading to some Type S wheels. They were supposed to be cheap and only temporary, they ended up not being temporary seeing as i can't find some Type S wheels, but cheap tires they were. Spend a little more so that you don't have to rethink the quality of your purchase.

However anyone builds there car, your tires (and the 4 small patches) are the only thing between you and the road. Just a pet peeve on mine when I see cars that are beautifully done whether tuner, sound, peformance, etc... then see they cheaped out on the tires. Invest a little where it counts and keep your precious vehicle on the road - safely. ...just my 2 cents.

Just to clarify, there are some, but one needs to look at the country of origin for the specific tire.

Cooper.

Goodyear, Falls, Guardsman, Kelly Springfield, Mastercraft, Sears Roadhandler & Unocal 76 are American tire companies but have some foreign manufacturing facilities.

That's a pet peeve with me too. Spend a couple grand in suspension and cheap out on the most important part. I tend to take it too far. The only reason I didn't go with a full R compound is due to the warm-up time. It had the possibility of being less safe so I compromised on the NT05.

Sadly, no. I would gladly pay more for something that was made here. I do as much as I can by staying away from Walmart most of the time. I work for a major US oil company which is kind of nice.

exactly what i would tell the OP. for performance michelin pilot sport a/s plus, bfgoodrich g-force t/a. longevity well michellin pilot sport ps2, or pirelli p-zero nero, these are just the best in these categories. but the one that would really be best of both worlds here is the michelin ps2, it will last long and give you superb handling and plenty of grip. and if you are looking to save money, well falken 452, or barum bravius 2, these are cheap but will be better than any other cheap tires including the nexxens. just my oh and im i sales man for america's tire co. also known as discount tire co. outside of california.

PS2s are outdated and over priced. You must trade wear for traction. There's no way around it. G-force TAs are average in dry performance at best. Their top of the line KDW-2s are ok but there are much better out there and the noise sounds like a lifted truck on 33" mud tires. Even though I was almost broke, the noise was so bad that I got rid of them with more than half the tread left.

For the best traction out of a tire you can drive on the street everyday, Nitto NT05 or the Star Specs end of story. Wet traction is excellent, noise is excellent, dry traction is amazing and they work ok in the winter (no ice or snow of course). Downside is wear but that's the price you pay.

I got nexxen 3000's Y rated.
And I have no complants.
Plenty of grip dry, good grip wet, horrible grip in the snow.
Tires just spin, absolutly no traction. If you live down south they are great tires.

I wrote a program for when I used it to commute 210 miles round trip. Managed to knock down 28mpg. But it wasn't very drivable. If I hit the slightest incline it would buck and shudder. Around town it's about 15mpg but in the old days with the 3,500rpm stall convertor I've seen as little as 8mpg. The sad part is the Tl and GN get the same city mpg.

Luckily with my company they're always giving out free $20 and $50 gas cards as rewards for just about anything for our brand of gasoline which luckily is one of the good (and expensive) brands. If I only use the car to go to work and back I almost don't have to come out of pocket for fuel.

i dont know man. the ps2 have always been loyal to me on my old car (2009 maxima) and on my 99 camro ss. i feel the grip all the time, but i do live in southern cali so i probably see a week of rain all year. the ps2 are pricey but i always get a bomb ass discount and free install. the g-force t/a are good but were noisy in my opinion. i just went off my personal experience when i gave my advice.

i think ps2 is a great tire.

but the thread talks about nexxens so like i said many options are better than nexxens for just about the same price. so for the OP, take a printed price of any tire you want to a discount/america's tire co. near you and the price will be beaten guaranteed.
