that was great! Yeah I was wondering why no one could figure out how to put the car in neutral? Are they at least suggesting this in the news stories to get the word out so people know to do that?

Everytime I hear about the unexpected acceleration I wonder why not put it in neutral. Some people have told me "well that would blow the engine", but that's what the rev limiter is for, and you know what - if it's between me smashing into a wall and the engine blowing up, guess which one I'm gonna pick.

Maybe the but causing the problem will prevent the electronic transmission from switching to neutral?

I'm glad this guy made the video, hopefully it'll serve as a reminder to Prius owners not to be such dumbfucks all of the time.

Reminds of a guy I work with. He had a similar rant.

I still don't know why people didn't put their suddenly accelerating car in neutral.

My Rabbi has a Prius. He still wonders why people aren't just putting their cars in neutral and pulling to the side of the road? I should send him this video he'll get a kick out of it.

I thought the issue with the 2010 Prius had to do with the brakes cutting out when going over bumps in the road and not sudden acceleration? But yeah people are pretty stupid not to know that you can put the car in neutral or simply kill the ignition.

Not to mention the brakes are stronger in most cars today, that by simply jamming on the brakes, it will stop the car, even on full throttle.
