How much was your A12 service??
My maintenance minder just gave me the A12 heads-up notice.
Called local Acura dealer and was told $240 + tax for:
oil & filter (should cost approx $30)
air filter (should cost approx $20)
cabin/pollen filter ($25)
tire rotation ($25)
visual brake inspection ($60 for this & next 2 combined)
check/fill fluids
other inspections & approx 1 hr labor
ext & interior car wash ($15 value)
For that, I'd expect around $175 or so... what did you pay? Why do I always feel the dealer gives us the squeeze?!?!

They really take you for a ride on the cabin air filter. I've seen that quoted (for a 3G) at ~$135 alone. It's a 20 min job at most.
These items are free at 95% of the regional shops:
visual brake inspection ($60 for this & next 2 combined)
check/fill fluids
other inspections
Anyone charging for a "comprehensive 24-point" (or 12-point or whatever) inspection is ripping their customers off.
Get your car washed at the dealer and expect it to have swirls and/or scratches. If you care, then you'll have to actually have it detailed to fix it. -$185 value.

-oil/filter/tire rotation/inspection: $19.95 + tax
-air filter and cabin filter, super easy to DIY; buy the parts for $7-8/each online or at your NAPA parts store, and change them yourself
-car wash: DIY at home, free
Forget the stealership (unless it's for warranty work).

Love that stealership comment. My A12 code just trigger as well. Where online did you purchase the cabin filter and is there a DIY about it somewhere? I have a takeda intake so no replacement air filter for me. What about the "timing belts" the code says needs to be checked?

What kind of oil and filter they put in for $19.95? Are you sure they put in a quality oil and filter? It might hurt your car than help.
Please DIY, go to Walmart and get 5-qrt 5w-20 Mobile1 Fully Syn. for $25 (Acura Recommended) and filter for ~$7.

ok, so I caved and paid $195 (incl. tax) for the A12 service at Acura of Thousand Oaks... but, included fully loaded ZDX rental so that was worth something I guess (fun!)
