car feeling sluggish and not accelerate like it used to

I have an 06 with 37K on the odom. I have noticed the car does not accelerate like it once did before. Feels pretty sluggish going from 1st gear to 2nd gear. I've check everything from the intake to the oil. Everything seems ok. I still get great gas mileage. I thought it was due to the type of gas, and I have tried putting 93 and 91 octane gas in the car. The result is still the same. The car seems to have lost its 'quickness' like it used to have from day 1 when I bought the car. Back then the throttle and acceleration felt pretty responsive and quick. Now everything seems to be grinded to a halt and I have to push the pedal hard to make it go. This could be competely psychological but I know my car since I'm the only that drives it. Any input will be appreciated.

It sounds like you have gunk built up in the engine, there is a DIY for seafoaming try that then change the oil, you should notice the improvement.

If you've been using a good fuel you won't have much build-up in such few miles. If you get the cheap-o wal-mart gas then you'll definitely have build-up that needs to be cleaned out.
Also, you've driven the car 37,000 miles. You're used to how it feels by now. Even 'vette drivers get used to the acceleration and don't get the same enjoyment out of them after 37,000 miles.

Do you NOT run 91+ octane fuel in your car regularly?

If not, why?!

in some states they only have 91 and other states you can only get 93. This is what I meant on my post. I think the car is getting older and things don't respond as they used to.

Ah. Well at 37k, things should be far from worn out if you've done regular maintenance.

It's possible you're just getting used to the car.

My '04 TSX has 103k miles on it and it feels pretty much the same as it did when it was new.

I'm sure your just getting used to the pull. I had a civic dx before my tsx. After I bought my TSX it felt like a rocket ship. Now it feels just like the civic.

try using BP Ultimate Gasoline with Invigorate or Shell V-Power, now with Nitrogen.

I have been using it for a few months in my 04 tsx and I can tell a huge difference in the acceleration and horsepower. The car also revs up a lot smoother.
