Toyo Proxes 4 in the snow?

I know they arent going to be anywhere near great but I am looking for a high perforamnce all season tire that can handle a little occasional snow. I really want the Mich Pilot Sport A/S but I dont want to spend 1400 on them. the Proxes will be 900 or so. any thoughts?

Proxes are trash even in the rain. You would be better off roller skating to your destinations, than riding the proxes. don't get me wrong they are still a great tire in dry conditions, but any wetness forget it!

I disagree...I've got the PX-4s and they're not bad in the rain. I drive aggressively and have never experienced any discomfort with them, even in hard rain.

Are you running them on your TL? They are the best rain tire I have ever had on a car. I have driven on back roads in storms with 2-3 inches of water running over the road and have had no hydroplaning issues at all.

hahahaha i love how they completely avoided your questions and started talking about dry/wet conditions. (Unfortunately, I don't have a set of these tires, or else i'd let you know)

for light snow, i recommend the Yokohama dB S2. for overall all season, for the money i would go for the Falken Ziex 512 ($400 for all 4 @ 17").

Proxes 4 are decent in the snow, depending on the depth of the snow. I had a set on my old car and drove a couple of times in some snow...about 3" and 6-8"...the 3" wasn't bad, but the 6-8" was pushing it...but personally, I wouldn't recommend driving in 6-8" of snow with low profiles of any kind (I never will again...oh the joys of youth). Now that I have the TL, new rule - no driving in snow...work can kiss my @$$ if they want me to come it as it ain't happenin'...the TL's too nice to be driving around in all of that muck, slag, and $hit.

Dude what are you talking about. The Proxes P4 handle just fine in the rain not as good as the T1-S, but they handle just fine. I have both tires for my summer and winter setup. In heavy snow the Proxes P4 are questionable. But over all a great tire.

I have Proxes TPT4s on my Solara and they're great in dry, OK in wet, and AWFUL in snow.
