wait...what exactly is it that your trying to do...hid retrofit? if so...there are 2 types of hid bulbs...d2r and d2s basically the d2r and d2s are teh exact same but has a black coating on part of the bulb to prevent excess glare....now with aftermarket retrofit kits...the base's on the hid bulbs have been modify so they fit in the smae sockets as halogen lights...but if you are trying to change out say your fogs..... you should go with d2s because they are a bit brighter...ok well hope that helps....

6000K ?????

The highest legal bulbs on the market are the Sylvania fogs and they are 5400K. Where did you get these "6000K" bulbs?

One thing to remember when you try to change your low beams. Each reflector is designed to perform with a specific bulb. If you change to a different bullb then there is a very good possibility that the arc will not be in the same place as the original. This will cause glare and color separation (green, red, and yellow) in you beam pattern.

P.S. You can't retro the Sylvania bulbs into your Low beams becase the base is keyed differently.

I got the 6000K for my fog lights. There are 2 types of the bulbs. Crystal White and Blue White.

Crystal White will give you more purple color. The blue white gives you more white color and little blue. I like Blue White better than Crystal White, but it depends on personal choice.

The website I bought this is at www.autolites.net

They don't have the D2R bulbs yet, but they have the 9006 for your 2002 TL fog lights.

I will order the 6000K D2R bulbs for my lowbeam lights from somewhere. I will let you know if you are interested in it later after I buy it.

Hey schnitzer540i,

I'm still thinking about installing HID for my fog lights.
how did you install it?
Anyone complain that your fog light is too bright?
Any glare from fog lights?
Is your HID fog light kit is waterproof?
I know I'm going to spend at least $600 for HID fog lights and I like to know if it's worth that much money. I'm afraid it might give too much glare to oncoming cars. Can you show us some pictures?

Thanks...

It is a very easy installation. Just take out the original bulb and put the HID bulb. The only difficult thing is only find a spot to put the ballast.

My fog lights are very bright now. I haven't get any complaints so far... but it sure help your vision on the road. I believe it's worth to buy.

I will take some pictures of it soon. I'll put comptech header tomorrow too, Can't wait.... ....heard from people that it makes a lot of difference....
