Windshield Trim

2014 TSX Sportwagon The exterior trim on the right side sill of the windshield came loose. I had the windshield replaced a few months ago. I tried to press and then pound it back in but no luck. Can't see that anything is broken. Any ideas?

There's a TSB for the molding. Granted it could've been set off by the shop that did your windshield replacement, but I've been a victim of this even without having my windshield replaced. Dealership replaced it free of charge as I dealt with it within warranty period. Do a quick search on the 2G TSX subforum and you should be able to find the TSB. Print it out and show it to your dealership.

Looks like it's TSB 12-018 Also some folks just glued it down.
This is actually similar to a problem I had with the trim on my previous Audi A3, but on the roof. They too had a TSB with new clips that fixed the problem.
I have a service coming up and need a safety inspection (Texas) so maybe a trip to the dealer is the way to go. They did the windshield as well.

The trim on my 2012 also is lifted on the passenger top side a few inches. I was just going to use some mild goo adhesive and tape it down for 24hrs in the spring.

GE window silicone has very good adhesion. I used it to bond mine back down. Haven't had any issues since.

home depot has it for $7 in a large tube.

check and see if the tsb has been taken care of by a previous owner. If not, then it will be fixed free of charge, whether you're still in your warranty period or not. I bought an 09 last year, and when I brought it in for service, they saw that tsb hasn't been performed yet, so they fixed. Crazy that mine has slipped through the cracks for so long, especially since I bought it from a finance manager at an Acura dealership and had impeccable service records on it.. If In fact yours has been done, then you'll probably have to fight with the place that replaced your windshield to pay for it

I think this is dealer-dependent. Whether this is supposed to be the case for all dealerships or not, this I'm not sure. I've read that many have been denied free service when out of warranty even for minor TSB items. Glad to hear you got yours done for free

The dealership is just going to smear a bunch of goop under the trim. I found this out when I had to get my windshield replaced later on. Just buy yourself some silicon and put a dab on and tape it down for a day or two.

I used the black windshield adhesive and glued mine down (passenger side). It's been a year and no looseness or leaks. I think I applied the glue on the actual clips and then taped it down for 24 hours

oh really, wow. Yeah I'm glad too then lol. My dealership wouldn't even release my car back to me till they replaced it, so they gave me a TLX for the weekend..

*edit to my earlier post, the finance manager actually owned the car*

I had the same problem, took it to Acura and they replaced it. They had to order the part and I took the car back when it arrived. They even told me the old ones were loose because the windshield had been replaced before.

I just got back from the dealer and they replaced the piece. It's a $300+ part with labor! Fortunately since the dealer did my windshield in May it's covered by warranty. I tried gluing as suggested, but I think I was missing some clips so I let the dealer do while I had the B2 service done. Had a TLX loaner and I thought the transmission was less fussy this time, not a great car, but if the price was right on a SH-AWD I might go for it, except I have a 6 foot long gant hook in the back of the sportwagon, not sure how it would fit in the sedan.
