2016 Acura RDX fully loaded loaner...

As mentioned, my TSX had a deep scratch in the bumper and a torn piece of leather on the side of the drivers seat. They agreed to fix it and put me up in a very nice luxury SUV. I know this is done on purpose, but they know what my budget is lol. It only had 100 miles on it. I feel if they truly wanted me to even consider an upgrade down the road, they would have put me in an ILX or even a TLX.

Anyway, it's smooth, quiet, love all the bells and whistles, love the smart entry, and the jewel eye LED and LED DRLs. However, oddly enough, it still an SUV and isn't as fun to drive as the quick and speedy turning of the TSX. Also, the dual screen is a bit much, and the touch screen is laggy and sometimes my presets for radio stations wouldn't even pop up. The color iMID display is really nice, lane watch, lane departure is neat. I do feel like a damn rock star in this thing, but I can't wait to get my TSX back to start modding.

Anyway thought I'd share a couple of photos. Anyone own one or considering one?

Trust me on this one...

Take that thing down to the nearest Costco, buy yourself some slacks, and wait for the women to come flocking. You should be able to stack them 3 or 4 deep in the back.

Then take them out for a nice dinner around $70 (split the bill obviously), and out to skeeball and laser-tag at a Dave and Buster's type place.

You'll see what that RDX life is about.

Looks pretty sharp! I've also heard bad things about the touch screen... seems they've really dropped the ball on that one. How's the AWD? It's no longer a SH-AWD unlike the 1G RDX, but I'm guessing it's still a decent ride. Admittedly, the heavy RDX with the ancient J series still stomped my TSX on a straight line when my sister-in-law's MDX was at the dealership for some warranty work; albeit close

I wouldn't mind having one of these if I was into skeeball myself

Yeah make sure its also RDX Elite and drive it in sport mode to show the women the great acceleration. It has potential to score phone number from a 8.5/10 as well, don't forget the Perry Ellis belt and lamb skin leather jacket!

We have an '11 TSX and a '15 RDX Tech. I don't know that either is more fun to drive than the other. The RDX is actually pretty surprisingly fast, so that's fun. The TSX handles better, but it's slow and FWD, so that sucks. I wish we had been able to get the '16 RDX, but my wife's previous car was totaled so we had to replace it earlier than planned. Still a nice ride.

Who knows, maybe you'll have a windfall and consider the RDX after all I test drove one last summer when I got the TSX, it's great but I just don't have a need for an SUV atm. It didn't have the blind spot camera the way the CRV did so hopefully they added that. Although, I noticed that it does take a while to change habits to look at the screen instead of turning your head around.

Also, they all sorely need Carplay/Android Auto instead of the Hondalink weak sauce.

Just curious, did you have to ask for a loaner? I got some service done and they had a driver shuttle people to work in an MDX. Was cool but I kinda wanted to drive the RLX Sport Hybrid ha.

Haha I took my parents for a spin and to dinner it in. Told them if I hit the powerball I will get it for them although I'd be able to buy a way more expensive SUV at that point.

I also don't need an SUV as well, not hauling anything and I had one for the past 11 years so I wanted a quick sedan that was able to whip around. Would have went VW Golf GTI but the reliability issues scare me.

They gave me a loaner because my TSX was going to be in the shop for a week and I live 45 minutes from the dealer. I didn't even ask for this type of loaner but I guess thats what they had on hand.

I agree with the carplay statment, which is why I may get a double din head unit with carplay eventually to help upgrade the dated tech in here. I was strongly considering a 2016 ILX a spec because there were a few demos available for 26k, but I went TSX instead.

Better go test drive one then.

The old turbo RDX was a ton of fun. My sister bought one with SH AWD OMG BBQ in like...2010 or something? It was a solid 14 second SUV and the turbo made it a riot to drive.

The turbo RDX aside, compact or minivan based SUV's make me flaccid overall. Incredibly boring. We bought a brand new CUV in 2014. What a depressing segment. Traded it in ASAP.

Then again, an automatic TSX sedan seems boring also. 17 sec quarter miles, very boring demeanor, boring styling. At least the handling is decent, and, despite the powerful scent of the black ice air freshener that's surely installed, people won't form a strong opinion about you one way or the other. Plus its pleasant to drive, has great features, and is economical.

I guess the up side to the Odyssey/CRV blend...or...."RDX", as y'all called it, has cargo space, and makes you look like you just landed a decent enough junior accounting job. It has some universal appeal...but nothing that stands out. Totally forgettable. Probably nice to drive, though.

my wife had an 08 RDX and I loved it... but my wife can't seem to keep a car for more than 8 months... got her the rdx, then she traded it in for a titan... now she is in a 2011 GMC Terrain SLT-2 I actually like the GMC more than the RDX... main reason is because the rdx only got like 17 or so city... with a 4cyl...that's terrible the Terrain gets like 25 city and like 33-35 hwy... granted it's gutless ecotech 4cyl but it's got way more features than the RDX ever had... power liftgate, backup sensors/camera, rear sliding seat, remote start, etc. the SLT-2 is only a step down from a Denali... I say it's a better car only for features and it gets great gas... but the RDX was def more fun to drive.

For me, this is my second car that I have ever owned. I have driven other vehicles here and there obviously but I had this RDX for a week to really get a feel for it. It was amazing. Yes, when I got my TSX back, I noticed the lag off the line, but I forgot about it in a day. Again, I am young and haven't had a variety of cars to go by, which is good because the TSX is perfect for me.

yeah our TSX's are slow af... but im ok with that... I don't really wanna make my tsx fast... cause it's heavy... I would rather make it look good and just cruise with it.. I enjoy the gas mileage... when I wanna have fun I drive my 88' CRX :P have a GSR swapped into it.

I wish there was a TSX "Type S" with the 1st gen RDX engine/drivetrain. K23 AWD TSX wagon in 6MT would be fantastic.

Very true. I don't speed but I do love the quick acceleration when you need it. Still, it is the luxury we love the most in these cars...
