Are the transmission coming out of Japan any better than the ones here?

I reckon all Honda & Acura cars sold in the USA have Japanese Transmissions they are just assembled here in the US... I don´t have the original window sticker for the TL but it should say there.

I believe all the UA5's were built in Ohio? So the honda inspire/saber sold in Japan would have been assembled alongside the Acura TL. I'm not sure if that's the case, but if it is, the parts would all be identical.

I thought I read the first letter of the transmission model # indicates country of origin (regardless of where the car was assembled), but I can't remember the details exactly and can't find a link. Maybe someone else knows.

^ I also think I recall when reading thru all the Acura literature and results from their testing of the issues (back in the mid 2000s, that some of the clutches were coming from US and some from Japan. I do think the failure rate from the US ones were higher. I could be wrong..trying to remember from quite a few years ago when I was sifting thru all of the info
