Anyone do a quick release mod? im looking to do this to my 03 tl-s, but i dont want to use the quick release fasteners with the rubber band that attach to your fender and bumper..ive seen some that look like they snap on, and those look much better.. does anyone know where to buy something like that, or has anyone done a diy solution?? i found this diy for a genesis, it seems pretty doable
i dont remove the front bumper too often, lately i have been because ive been doing some body work to it, but the main reason i want to do this is because on my passenger side, the bumper no longer sits flush with the fender
^ I bet its the headlight bumper retainer bracket... That sucker gave me such a headache when it rusted and broke, Gave my bumper a huge gap between the headlight and the side fender.
Something is bent that's why it's not flush. Repair it right then you don't have to mess with it anymore.
I have to agree here, find whatever is preventing it from sitting flush and fix that. Could be easier than doing this quick-release setup, and may not cost you anything.
I know in some situations fixing it isn't that practical, like on my old turbo civic, the front bumper wouldn't sit flush because the intercooler piping was hitting the fog light and fixing it would've required more cutting and welding than I wanted to deal with lol.
So if you're in a situation like that, or if maybe you just like the style/appearance aspect to it, I'm sure it wouldn't be too difficult to install, especially since you're already familiar with removing the bumper.
I've seen kits like that on ebay, i don't know how good they are but they are probably all pretty universal.
