does anyone know how much is the right price to fix engine oil leak?
my dealer told me it's going to cost more than $1,000 for oil pan gasket and so on.

Dealer told me is the rear main seal area that is leaking. not sure what that mean, but i think it's coming from the engine since the oil is dark color.

rear main, yea thats a bit much, but thats a dealler charge...to do the rear main they have to drop the trans if you call around to other mechanics you could probably get that work done for around 600-700

You need to confirm exactly where the oil leak is coming from so you can make some informed decisions.

If it's the rear main seal, do NOT go to the dealer. Go talk to small transmission shops and try to get the shop price (what they charge other shops and dealers) on removing the tranny, installing the seal (very easy) and reinstalling tranny. It should be around $500. No more than 4 hours of labour for them since they do this stuff every day. The seal costs $15.
For $1000+ I would seriously consider buying a used Accord tranny to install in your TL while you are replacing the seal.

Main seal leak ? That's a bitch to fix.

It's all labor work, due to the tranny removal in order to get to the seal area. A couple dollars for the rubber seal, and the rest is all labor charge.
