Headlights in a 2002 Acura TL

First off, I'm new to this forum, so sorry if this question has already been answered, but what type of headlights are on the 2002 Acura TL 3.2 base type? If they are HID's, would that mean that I do not need a conversion kit? And would it be possible for me to just buy some higher intensity bulbs like the 6000k's offered by HIDeXtra.com? Or if anyone has any other bulb suggestions that'd be great too! Thanks!

The car comes with HID's from the factory, so if you wanted to buy the bulbs you are asking about, it would be a direct swap. Factory bulbs are 4300k, d2r bulbs.

Do some research on HID's before you go any further. If all you want is a blue tint to the light, then you'll be okay, but know that you're losing light output as you go higher in the kelvin scale.

In short, I want the brightest light possible. Would you say that I already have the brightest out there since they are at the lower end of the spectrum? Or if you have any experience with a specific brand, or if you have a suggestion on what k output I should look into that would be great too! Thanks!

Is there anything I can do for the fog lights to make those a little brighter as well?

you can get a hid kit for ur fogs, or you can go the ghetto way and get some silverstar bulbs which sorta look like hids and give that little bluish tinge to it.

Phillips + bulbs would be your best bet for brightness. If you're on the original bulbs, they probably lost enough output by now that if you got brand new 4300k bulbs, you would see a difference in light output.

You can get a 9006 HID kit to use in the fog lights. I personally would't spend more than $60 shipped on that.

Okay, I'm a very inexperienced car guy. So any suggestions on where I should get the kit? Would these work? http://store.everythingcarparts.com/...-p8588031.html

Or - http://www.futurevisionhid.com/9006-...rsion-kit.html

And any instructions on how to go about installing these? I have little to no car experience (don't even change my oil, sad I know). Think I'd be better off going to a dealership and having them install them? Thanks for all the help every one!

installing an HID kit is extremely easy to do. HID bulb to ballast to OEM socket harness, done.

I don't go to the dealership unless I have to, so I'm not sure if they would even install an HID kit for you. Even if they did, they'll probably charge you as much for labor as you'll spend on the kit itself. If you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself, see if there are any local members that will lend you a hand.
Like Volly said though, the install is pretty basic - connect a few plugs, double-side tape the ballast in a safe place and replace the bulbs. Taking the bumper off will take longer than the HID itself, and even the bumper is also an easy job.

Those would work, you can also get a kit from one of the vendors here, just read up a little bit on their feedback. I know hidextra sells their kits for $60 shipped and a lot of members have used them.

One last thing, the hid fogs aren't going to do that much for you as far as usable driving light, that's what the headlights are for.
