I finally got around to putting in that add-a-circuit and everything went smoothly (had that SRS problem, but took care of it).
I did notice that the fog lights turn off when I put my high beams on, is that normal, or did I do something wrong here? I am not too sure if that was also the case prior to using the add-in-circuit technique.

Does anyone know of a way to do the fog light mod so that the fog lights don't turn off with the high-beams on? I just did a similar mod to our new-to-us '97 Explorer and the fogs will stay on even with the high-beams. I also did it on my previous car, a '95 Probe GT. I assume it's doable on the TL too.

You only need one diode (it keeps the power from feeding back through the circuit). You don't have to solder the wires, but it does give a better connection. Butt connectors work as well, just make sure you have the ends crimped securely.

^I thought you said that you were selling the car.
Anyway...
Looks good, gives me an idea now for my 1G so that I can master my fog light mod so that I don't have to push the switch every time I want mine to be one.

I was going to sell the car, but things changed because I was finally able to get AAMCO to put 7year/Unlimited Miles warranty on my new tranny. So, new tranny lasting that long means keeping it for awhile...... plus the time is great to buy a new car, but iunno about keeping my job and my name in payroll long enough..

I just did the mod a couple of days ago. I didn't use the diode and connected the fog button to the fuse#9 (ACC I believe) through an add-a-circuit. Mod worked fine when I tested it but for some reason it screwed my sound system a little. I have an aftermarket head unit and a single din touch screen, 3 amps(front, rear and sub) and all aftermarket speakers and a sub in the back. So when I turn my ignition on before starting the car my speaker and sub work as usual. When I start the car my speakers work and the amp for the sub turns on but my sub does not play.
I could not figure out why it's doing it so I found an alternative way of doing a fog light mod and so far I like it.
I'm in Canada so I've got DRL(day running lights). So I connected my add-a-circuit to a day light fuse(don't remember the number but it's indicated on the fuse cover). So I can still turn the fogs on and off any time i want. When the car is running I get my DRLs on and fogs on(or off if i want). Same when I turn my side markers and tails, I get side markers, DRLs, fogs and tails on. When I turn on my HIDs, however, my DRL turn off and I only have the sides, HIDs and fogs on. I can still use high beams and when I do that fogs turn off.
My version of the mod is fine but I'm still interested to find out as to why my sub was not working with the V2 mod. Was it due to not having the diode in the circuit? If that's the case then why would my door speakers work? I have a separate amp for the front and the back stage and they are on the same circuit with the sub amp.
Let me know if you have any ideas.
Thanks and sorry for book-long post.

can't you just wire them up like you can with integra's? On my old integra i just wired the power that runs to the fog light switch into the power to the rear defroster which gets power whenever the ignition is in the run position, then you can turn them on at will regardless of the headlights or running lights.

Done, Its very Simple. Here´s my kinda "DIY": https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-tl-1999-2003-98/diy-high-beam-fogs-mod-802817/

If you are still reading this... I am not exactly sure why it wasn't working but I recall the reason I added the DIODE was because current was flowing backwards and still powering parts in the car which isn't good. I added the diode afterwards when I saw I still could power my ACC items if the fogs were on.

Its been a couple of years but this happens if you pull the wrong fuse while the key is still in the car... or at least that is what happened to me. Reset it and it never came back.

I know this thread is old but I've been searching how to get HIDs in for fogs and i saw AZN.M3NACE's picture of his 03 tl with the hid fogs. I have a 01 CL-S. Can anyone share some knowledge on what type/size of HID bulb you used for your fog lamp housing? And anyone have any ideas on how i would wire it up? ANY info would be greatly appreciated!

I don't believe they are 9006 but like the guy above said, check the site forth right bulb when purchasing tje HID kit. Most of them come with a relay and it is really straight forward. Power ground and trigger to relay, then from relay the harness provided so go directly to the ballasts. Power to battery power, ground to any ground battery chassis, trigger just tap the original fog light harness.

If the bulbs are 921, check on eBay to see if they have that size. The other option would-be to retrofit it. If they don't you may be out of luck. I haven't been on the forum much in the past few years but I don't recall anyone added it but since then there are a lot more HID kits on the market.
