Stealership wants $420 for new Rotors
I have 2003, 3.2 TL and my rotors were warped at 30 K. The dealer re surfaced them and installed new pads.
I am 42 K now, and when i brake at high speed it starts vibrating. Even while driving it vibrates. The delear says its the rotors and I should replace them as there is a ridge on rotors and can't be fixed by resurfacing them.
Guys do you think I can call customer service and force the dealership to replace them under warranty. or should go and get really good after market rotors?
I think the dealer is just trying to rip me off.
Anil

I don't there's any doubt that they are rying to rip you off!! I doubt you'll get anywhere asking for warranty replacement, though. They are wear-out parts like tires and oil that aren't warranteed. You shold be able to buy good rotors and pads for under $250.00 total, and replace them in under an hour.

There is a TSB on the brakes... Talk to another service advisor. Tell them you had to break in an emergency and that the wheel almost shook off your hands. Tell them you felt "un-safe" and would like the situation remedied immediatly. If you have more than 50% of your pads left all around, clearly your rotors are defective and can cause a "problem" in traffic. If you get nowhere, ask the advisor the name of the person they report to and their position. If you need to talk to that person, repeat the proceedure.... all the way to the top. Mention that how they take care of you now will reflect who you go to when your warranty is up (soon). For enphasis, throw in a couple of the other dealershoips name's in the area. If you still are getting nowhere, take your business somewhere else. Good luck.

With 60K on my 2003 Type-S I went online to Tirerack and ordered Brembo OEM rotors and pads. Very good price. I installed them and my brakes don't shake the steering wheel anymore. I like Acura but clearly they have a problem here. But so do Infiniti/Nissan and others.

I won the battle with the stealership.
I fought with the customer service and made them replace my rotors for free, also rotate and balanced my tires for free. i basically told them i was considering buying another car but this experience of going thru new rotors so quickly and paying for it even though some dealers do this under warranty will affect my decisions. those guys realized it and did it as a courtesy.
i m a happy camper now. lets see how long these new rotos last.
cheers

You think that they're trying to rip you off? Don't think, know that they are. There is simply no sense in buying rotors from the dealership when you can get them somewhere else for a helluva lot less.

I have a set of 4 rotors with the pads from my '99 tl that only have about 8k miles on them. I'll sell them for $100 w/shipping. Just email me if your interested at ecuellar23@gmail.com
