Any 2G TL-S, TL-P with original trannys?

I just joined Acurazine, but I am the original owner of a 2002 TL-S. I only have 80k miles and did all of the TSB's. My car still drives very well. With all of the posts about rebuilt trannys, I'm curious if there are there any other TL owners out there with the original transmissions?

Just curious...

I'm pretty sure mine has the original trans. 2001 TL I bought it used a few years ago with about 85000 miles. It had sat for a year or two. Person I bought it from had a spreadsheet with maintenance. It listed going in for a recall on the transmission early on.

anything over 50 is ripe for failure! thats what acura techs say!

Major problem with talking about trans on here- the azine curse~

OPEN Hood:
look at top of trans in center- is there a large bolt with ATF stamped on it, and the heads of several small and large bolts on the trans are painted BLUE?
that's a post feb 05 replacement
When you change fluid that big ATF bolt is the filler hole

If you look at top center of trans- where filler hole should be- and there is a device with a small hose attached- you have an original trans with the recall install external oil jet kit

Its possible to have a replaced trans prior to the case design change in 05- so it would have both the external thing and the blue bolt paint

You all need to get on a program to introduce the new fluid= DW-1 to the TL
and a new external trans filter is a good idea

cooling is the problem with our trans, and new fluid is better than decade old fluid-
you cant even buy the old stuff anymore!

^ pretty easy to do.
There is a serviceable line that comes out of the stock filter remove that and place a Inline filter in its place and it's done.

wowzer see the diy for help on replacing the atf filter
there is one there even acura parts guys have never sold~ but we know about it!

remove battery tray and its below that= a few more bolts and things in the way then its right there!
Requires a minimal donation of skin layers to the car gods for access.
Spin on type, order aftermarket brand online (amazon) for 15$

if you install an additional filter unit- get the magnetic type iirc called magnafine ?
someone here knows for sure

My sister has a 2002 TLS with about 210,000k miles on there with ORIGINAL TRANNY.
We've had it in our family since new. Still drives better than my 02 TLS with 195,000 miles with a rebuilt tranny.

Then again my aunt and my sister probably never takes it above 5k rpm.
