After 63K My polyfilled side mount collapsed.
So my polyfilled mount decided to die on me (Collapsed) after 63K-ish of trouble free performance.
I changed it today as I had another full polyfilled side mount ready to be swapped (The one that collapsed was half-half). But basically the poly part shifted from the metal housing, "Unglued" might be the word? So the shaft was moving freely. Took me 25 minutes to swap my new side mount and its rocking again!
So just to inform anyone your expecting 60K out of a 15bucks polyfilled side mount. Ill update this (If I find this thread) how long my F/R Mounts last as they are too polyfilled.

Were your front and rear mounts the originals which ya poly-filled ?
Apparently ya have the vac assist blocked off if so.
How difficult was it to "poly-fill" the F & R mounts ?

Yes my F/R are originals so I had to support the engine while the mounts dried for a week.. Nothing a pair of Wood blocks cant do.
Once you have them out its pretty straight forward when the Oil leaks out the mount has a free gap which you basically fill with Poly.. Cant explain it with words but once you have the mount in your hand you can freely move it up and down and you will know where to fill with poly.
Yeah no Vac assisted they are pretty much solid.

Poly filled is not compressed enough after dried to hold the moving force. So, it will fail. I think, with poly fill, you can only dab it in there to fill up the gap; but when dried, it will be shrunk and spongy.
I still have the orginal side mount and is working just better. With the orginal side mount still in good condition, take it out, fill the empty space with any rubber cushion that you could find. With this method, you can fill as much as you could squeeze it in there, pull it through tight and firm, then trim it flush on both sides; I used old shoe bottom sole, and it works like a charm.

^ I think that's the issue with Liquid Poly Fill though..
I use window Poly fill which dries as hard as any rubber compound.. Even coming out of the tube requires inhuman strength.
But "anyhows" my half-half (Which still had the rubber thing in the shaft) hold up 60K! I'm not expecting these Poly filled mounts to last a lifetime but for 15 bucks and 60K? I'm proud my home made mount made it that long

Indeed it was! but that was a more simple experiment as I just lined up the shaft again and poured the Poly fill inside, I kept all the OEM Rubber in it.
The one now is installed I completely removed every single trace of OEM Rubber in it with a sand disc. And its pure 100% Polyurethane filling.. That's the one that must last the long run! I keep my fingers crossed.
