2002 TL-S Trans- Seems to have just quit with no prior issues

Hi, I just got a call from my son, says he pulled out pf the driveway, put in D and it wont move, I asked if he has been having any other issues, slipping etc and I drove the car 3 days ago and no issues. I know these trans have issues but is there something I should look for being that it is unusual that it seems to have quit altogether, all at once. I am waiting to head over to his house shortly.
I know that they also take a specific trans fluid from Honda

Not necessarily. if one of the joints broke but stayed in place. There's a lot of speculation here though. You have to examine the car physically.
