I'm gonna go check tomorrow and see how much it'll cost to get them removed. Then it'll be time for wheels and lowering springs :P

Nice. Is it much louder inside? Could you make a video from the inside while driving (cruising, acceleration etc.)? That would be awesome! Btw. Is this mod legal?

Depends on your state or locality, on its face sure it is and as long as doesn't throw any code for emissions if your state requires emission tests it's all good. Also in DMV Johnny law is cracking down on noise and a few friends have been pulled for noisy exhaust so depends on your local men/women in blue tolerance but personally this doesn't sound that loud at all to garner a second look IMHO

Nice mod OP

Yeah I wouldn't even worry about ever being pulled over. Hell I ran straight pipes on my Mustang GT and never once got pulled over for it and trust me it got plenty of attention.

The sound would be comparable to the G35/G37 as far as loudness goes. It's not near enough to attract attention to the police, hell if I knew nothing about these car's I'd almost think the car came that way.

Since mufflers have absolutely nothing to do with emissions and just noise, it should pass just fine unless your inspector goes by the book in which case is very rare.

How did you "delete" it? Cut pipe and tips and put a straight pipe between?

It should not pass inspection in Texas. Like OP said though, that doesn't mean it won't.

Just had them cut the muffler off the tip, they cut and bent some new piping and welded the tips to the new piping and put in some new hangers, took them about 20min.

That's gravy.. I'm gonna get them to extended my tips a bit. They hide behind the Aspec lip.

Find a small shop, they'll do it alot cheaper that's what I did. One shop wanted $225 to do the job and I told them to kiss my ass.

I'm not real sure the difference in performance would be that dramatic or even noticeable. Hell even on my GTI when I went 3" wasn't noticeable until I did a tune on the car so I could build more boost.

probably noticeable, removing 2 of those fat resonators will definitely help..

Either way I'm gonna do the muffler delete first & see how I feel

Outside sound is nice but I'm mostly inside while driving and enjoy engine's sound from the inside too. Could someone record engine's sound from the inside ? Unless sound doesn't really change inside the car after this mod?

I'll see if I can but it's really hardly noticeable. You can easily carry on a conversation very well.

I'm even more sold now..

Just dropped a decent chunk on tires/install today so this is on the back burner for the moment. I could always cut the mufflers off and ride dirty with no tips.. lol
