Hello everyone 😀i really need some help here my rl has both of the fans broken, so o ordered them at the dealership, but now the mechanic says that i needs the fan motors too, because the motor was the cause why the fans broke. the fan needs a motor to spin.

if the old fans werent spinning, MAYBE the fan motors are bad.

Thanks for that quick response juntnspace, yes the fans were working or spinning before, í already ask another mecanic and they don't even check the motor, thai just said that í need the fan motor too.
I guess I'm gonna have to spend $550 for those motors.

The motors are powered by the 50A fuse on the positive battery terminal connector. Make sure that isn't blown first.

this new mechanic told me that the reason the fan blade broke from the center is because the there's something wrong with the motor, he said the motor would be wobbling from the part holds the fan blade.

If both fans stopped, that's not the motors. That would be a one in a million that both motors would burn out. Also extremely rare that a fan would come loose from the motor. I personally think your mechanic doesn't know shit about Acuras and is just guessing. Check the fuse first and then both fan relays in the underhood fuse box. Not sure about RLs but Legends had a fan timer switch that if it went bad, both the condenser and radiator fans would quit working. In any case, DO NOT LET THE CAR OVERHEAT!

I sure wish people would spend the $80 for a HELM Factory Service Manual for any Honda. I have never bought a Honda and not gotten the FSM. It has allowed me to troubleshoot problems like this and saved a ton of $$$.

The mechanic was right,Fan motorbushings are worn out, causing the fan to wobble when it spin, and eventually break the fan

So I just got new fan motors, thanks again for your help.
