There was nothing wrong with your signature, really. I believe signatures are a feature that you can turn off. Either that, noobs can't see them, or the man is blind.

The red letters were a bad link, they fixed it.

It works now.

Hi all, new member. About a month ago the dealer found two of my motor mounts were starting to crack. My warranty was up in 100 miles so I had to go ahead and get it fixed then and there.

Unfortunately, it appears the XLR8 mounts are no longer produced for the RL. Does anyone know of another aftermarket option for a 2007 RL?

^Rockauto has some aftermarket mounts. I can't vouch for the quality of them....

XLR8 never made mounts specifically for the RL.

You can use the mounts for the 04-08 TL. Only thing is the passenger mount bracket has to be modified since it's not a perfect fit on the RL.

I purchased the TL kit but I've only gotten around to doing the front so far, rear is a bitch...

Millermatic 212 mig welder
sawzall
DA grinder
90* straight edge
VHT Black wrinkle paint

First i had to cut the mount in order to make it work since the holes are off on the bracket.

here is the mount in place with the cut off bracket. Just showing the bolt holes that i used to hold the mount in place.

I took a marker and 90* angle and marked 4 marks across the mount for alignment. and tack welded them in place to check fitment.

and the finished mount after welding and grinding it all smooth. I threw a couple coats of wrinkle black on there to get the same look as the other mounts. but i failed to get a picture of that.

man, i know it was some centuries ago, but is there any chance you (or anyone else) still have these pics around? the links for them seem to be dead I am purchasing these mounts now and I will surely need some additional info about the side one, all I have found till now is that these don't fit, but can be "forced" to fit. I would love these pictures or some advice from people who have used these mounts on RL.

It is possible that Carbon Legend still has the pictures, definitely worth reaching out to him.

That would be helpful. I just got my front and side replaced (surprise!) today and will need to the rear eventually. I went with OEM mounts- thank goodness for extended warranties.

I was completely shocked when taking off my mounts. I changed the front and rear mounts. the side mount will have to be done later as i will have to make a new bottom or top plate to make it work.

I installed the XLR8 mounts and they fit perfectly in the front and rear. I put vacuum caps on the vacuum lines to the mounts.

The front motor mount was complete garbage along with the rear mount. both mounts i have no idea how they even did their job properly. as you can see in the video below.

the side mount was not in bad shape at all compared to the others one minor tear.

So here are some pictures of the Carnage mount.

Video of how bad the front mount actually was

http://youtu.be/nLGTGROciNQ

Using the XLR8 Mounts you can not use the vacuum for the mount so i bought a few vacuum caps and secured it with a zip tie.

XLR8 Front mount inplace.

So far i have driven 50 miles on the mounts. just a little bit of vibration at idle especially if the A/C is on. I am not complaining at all i know the urthane mounts will outlive the OEM replacement mounts. God knows how long these mounts have been like this.

Spent $300 on the mounts.
3 hours total time to do the front and back mount.
I have an 05 RL I'm trying to replace my transmission mounts but I have no idea how many mounts the car have when I search online I get two different mounts to come up one being the left hand side. It's there any way to visually check to see if it's that mount that's the issue? Also what are the part numbers for the transmission mounts?

So I ordered replacement mounts for my 2005 RL. They were without a doubt bad. I found a set for front and rear off eBay and ordered them. Started with the passenger side which is easy to see and get at. Started to take it off and looked in my box and the mounts are nowhere close. On the car has 3 17mm bolts. The one in the box is twice as big and has 4 bolt holes. Every site I check shows 4 bolts. What’s going on?

My Acura dealer recently received "2010 RL Tech pkg" as a trade in from the original owner who purchased and serviced his car in this Acura dealership. This car has close to 110K and sales guy told me that when they take a car in, techs do multi-point inspection. He said they know this car and even can give me 30 day warranty. I just don't know if techs really check wheel bearings, CV joints, engine mounts(as in this thread)... Anyone can chime in with their recommendations?

I wouldn't worry about it - mounts are consumables, like tyres/brakes/exhausts etc. and they aren't hugely expensive to replace when they do eventually wear out. Be more concerned about the none-consumables - like the bodywork, interior, gearbox etc.

Thanks for the info!
So the exterior is pretty much like new, possibly was garaged by the original owner. The car also has that clear plastic on the front of the hood, door edges.
The interior leather seems to be pretty much spotless, but I will check it properly when I drive the car again. Sales guy told me they just got it and car wasn't detailed yet when I saw it.
I test drove it and shifts were good, pretty much seamless. I didn't drive for very long, but I did few miles in town and on the way back, took highway.
I think the wheels didn't have any curb rush on them, but will need to pay more attention
Engine compartment was pretty clean with all plastic around the engine properly seated.

Any idea on cost to have the dealer replace all 3 motor mounts with OEM? I think my mounts are failing, ugh.
