Well if you are that guy, then go iPad with full on stereo and internet... I'll make the while you type up the DIY.
As far as the power line, could you run multiple smaller gunge wires?

Removing the RL's audio system may not be so simple. The head unit is heavily integrated into the NAVI telematics, the ANC system is integrated into the BOSE system and I believe it also contains the controllers for the VC systems. Removing the head unit will likely affect some or all of these systems. The RL's telematics are quite unique for it's design year and deployment. Modifying the system has many constraints and impacts on the features for which the RL receives the most accolades.

He is not removing any of the head unit just the amp and speakers via the bit.1 which is the best unit on the market. The other equipment is also very high end and should sound amazing if done right. I also agree about under the car or do 2 runs of a smaller gauge. Just as many other have tapped into the sub to add an aftermarket he is doing the same just expanding it to the rest of the system. Im thinking of doing something very similar so keep me posted!

The title of the thread was not "Anbody replace the amps and speakers of thier (sic) RL?"

The stereo system includes the head unit.

most new cars head unit are almost impossible to remove, but you can STILL have a very high end aftermarket system without changing the head unit. That is why there is processors such as the bitone.1 and the jbl ms-8. i ended up drilling a hole and running the power wire into the car... will have pics up when done!! should sound great..

if you want to retain all the functionality of the stock HU with better sound, tap after the factory amplifier and connect it to a processor such as the 3.sixty.2 or the Bit One. Then hook that up to your amplifiers and then your speakers.

That is what i did... i actually got a jbl ms-8 on order too, will be trying both to see which one i like more... i have worked with a couple of 3sizty.2 and IMHO it is not in the same league as the audison unit.

So got the jbl 10 gti mounted to the rear deck, IB. ran all the wires and tapped into the bose amp to the audison bitone.1, but i think i will be using the ms8. should come in sometime this week. in the process of building the kicks for the esotar2 650 and esotar2 110. did a test run and the bass sounds greatt... this has got to be one of the hardest car i have ever worked on.. everything is just sooo tight... will have pics up sooon!!

still in the works... in the process of making the kicks right now.... trying to aim it... proves to be more difficult than i initially thought it would be... should be all done by this weekend tho.. will post pics then...

Just wondering how you have this hooked up. I know your running the bit.1 and have your front stage but did you disconnect the factory speakers and just run the front stage and sub. Also how do you have it configured amp wise just curious. What are your thoughts so far and how do you think it sounds? Would you do anything different? I'm asking because i'm thinking about doing something similar very soon. I like your choice in system components that stuff is very high end! I'm not so sure about going ib though. What made you decide to go that rought as opposed to a custom sealed or ported box with a beauty panel ( what i'm thinking of doing but intered to know more about the ib choice) Anyways looks awsome!

I ran my power cable under the car behind the side skirt and came in under the rear floor also. im not a fan of kick panels but you did a good job on them. I am personaly a big bass guy but you can never have enough mids. I have a 15" L5 solobaric in a tuned 4.5 cubic foot vented enclosure hooked up to a Rockford Fosgate power 1000bd amp with a hi/low converter. im gonna switch the hi/low out for the hifonics fully adjustable line output converter and add a Rockford Fosgate 4 channel and another fosgate mono block amp for a JL audio mid driver in the rear sub location. The doors will have 4 whip audio 6.5"s. 1" inch tweeters in the front doors and 3" tweeters in the rear deck. Im also addind a whellin siren in the front bumper to get that 4 block range of highs to go with my crazy bass. I just haven't got the balls yet to remove the stock interior setup yet but soon i will.
this is my enclosure and amp before i put it in. I dont like built in fiberglass enclosures cause they don't hit as hard.

I was wondering what speakers would I be able to purchase to replace the door speakers in my 2005 RL. I looked at Crutchfield and could not find anything that would fit.
I'm not looking for a super fancy sound setup, factory sound is fine but I am getting a buzzing, distorted sound from both front door speakers and would just like to replace them. Anybody else have this issue? Thanks in advance.

I want to replace it with either an aftermarket or another factory speaker.
