Who can refer me to or wants to sell me one

I know some dealers watch these forums like on BMW ones so here it goes...

I live in Kansas City where RDX is one of the most desired cars hence making their prices higher.

I am looking for some one ( a dealer ) or if any one can refer me to some one who will do a 36 months 10k/year miles lease for me a 2016 RDX Tech package with remote start for only first month payment down and 400/month.

If there is any one out there please get a hold of me or refer me to talk to.

I called one California dealer but he said his dealership wont sell to non Cali residents.

I will even consider a car broker who wants to order it for me and have it delivered, I don't need it right away and willing to wait a few weeks to get it to me.

Thank you in advance.

Alex

Find a metro area that has several dealers (washington DC for example) and email each of them asking for quotes. Factor in the cost of a flight - or - go to truecar.com and get quotes in different zip codes. Use that to negotiate with local dealers. Try COSTCO too.

Yes, I went there, its where I got my 03 TLS back in the day, they are as useless today as they where back then, we have two accords from jay wolf honda, and 7 TL's from Jaywolf Accura and they still would not budge of the MSRP which is almost two grand higher then other big cities.

Done, that and have spoken to a few guys in FL but they are still coming in with some high numbers for dealer fees and other fee's which racks up the price.

The best prices has been in LA but two dealers there told me that they can't sell or lease to a non Cali resident.

I want to find some one who is a car broker, who can order these cars but doesn't have the over head like a regular dealership and can do the deal at low prices.

Or a dealership in other cities who is willing to work with me.

My wife Accord is a '12 with 13k miles EXL V6 leather, mint condition, owe about 16K on it once the lease ends in August but none of these dealers want to offer me more then 17k for it knowing that they can flip it for 21k easy in our market.

Payback for KC fans rigging the MLB all-star votes.

The current published 2016 rate is $420/mo with $420 down @ 10K miles a year for a base (non-Tech) + tax/license. The "get 'em outta here" rate for a 2015 Tech is $339/mo with $2899 down (or $419.52/mo with $0 down). I don't think you're going to see a 2016 Tech go for a negotiated $400/mo for quite a while

The inventory is too low and demand is too high.

+1 $400 for a base maybe.. not even close for a tech.

yeah that is an issue, people here pay what the dealer states without even trying to get the price lower, people don't seem to understand that if they don't pay what is offered, and the demand is not there, prices will drop.

That being said, the purpose of this thread is to find other dealers that I can speak with in other states that have inventory to move who would be willing to work the numbers down.

How are you going to work your trade? Aside from the trade, just write to dealers and get their best pricing. No need to tell them initially that you're in the middle of nowhere.

Even though the mileage is a little low for us, I'd be tickled to get a sign-and-drive lease of a $40K vehicle for $400/month

Tell 'em you got another customer if you can work THAT deal!

That's a little bit like the restaurant that's "so crowded, nobody goes there anymore ".
As long as there exists one person 'demanding' the 'last' RDX supply available, there will be no need to drop prices in order to attract customers. You just need to get Acura to produce an extra couple hundred thousand units and flood the market, rather than trying to manipulate the buying public.

Inventory is picking up and dealers are willing to deal in larger markets. The problem is in smaller markets with only one dealer. There is no incentive to deal if they can sell what they have at MSRP or thereabouts.

You have several choices:

Find a market with more competition
Wait until demand subsides
Buy a different car

It also helps if you are an existing Acura customer. I got a good deal on a 2016 RDX AWD tech w/Acurawatch plus by going to the same dealer that I bought my 2010 RDX. I also take my car there for maintenance. The dealer originally offered me $500 under MSRP and $2000 for my trade-in. By telling them that I bought my 2010 with them and that I go to them for service and that I would like to continue my relationship with them the sales manager dropped the price to $1940 under MSRP and increased my trade-in to $2500.

My family has two Honda accords with Jay Wolf Honda here in kc, and 7 TL's ranging from 99 to 2003 from jay wolf Acura... when I told them that.. they said "thank you" and offered me a complimentary sandwitch with the 42K MSRP.

I am looking at every city and reaching out to many dealers, one will do the deal.

I can buy my wifes accord from Honda right now for the residual value, turn around and sell it for a 3k profit. But the hassle and time is what I don't have. But if the right dealer in some other city makes me a good offer, ill do it.

And if any one else wants a 2016 RDX Tech package with remote start for 400/month with only first month payment and a few other small fee's let me know, Ill ask the dealer for a multi car discount.

We did that on my BMW, I had two other guys in Cali who ordered via my dealer here who gave us a great deal and we got 70K cars for 650/month.

I've closed approximately 60 vehicle transactions over the past 20 years (myself and family/friends) and am well read on the various strategies employed by manufacturers and their respective dealers.

The worst time to buy or lease a re-designed vehicle is during the summer (specifically June and July). Why?
  • There are no factory-to-dealer incentives on the new models; the "cash on the hood" is on the outgoing model (in the RDX case, the 2015 model). Few cash incentives for the buyer, so expect less of a reduction off MSRP for 2016 models.
  • Dealers profit from the factory-to-dealer incentives, so there are few cash incentives for the dealer; again, expect less of a reduction off MSRP for 2016 models.
  • Because the manufacturer wants to move the outgoing models first, interest rates and money factors are higher for the new model.
  • Manufacturers require dealers to move out a portion of current inventory in order to receive new models. As a result, color/model combinations of the new models is very limited on dealer lots.
One of the few incentives a 2016 RDX sale provides a dealership right now is a sale towards its monthly target (or a salesman close to his sales quota). An end-of-the-month 2016 RDX transaction could provide a better deal if timed right with a dealership.

We're in the market for a 2016 RDX Tech lease (my Veloster lease will be up in the Fall) and unless the prices suddenly drop beforehand, I'm targeting Saturday November 28 (end of year, end of month).

I bought my 2016 RDX tech w/AcuraWatch at the end of June since this was end of month/end of quarter. That probably helped me with the negotiation.

Dang...unless they have a really screwy fiscal calendar, most of us don't see the end of the year until late DECEMBER.

I do agree with the end of the month, end of quarter, end of year strategies(unless the factory deals hit before and in anticipation of these dates...especially as 'next year' models are hitting the showrooms in quantity).

There is the Gregorian calendar and then there is the Type34 calendar.

In addition, the end of the year may be the best time to buy a car. Depending on state, there may be tax incentives for the dealer to move stock before Jan 1 - you know - the day after November 28...

With a 5-year-old and a 3-month old (by then), no way will I be able to buy a car at Christmas time. I'll be broke. November is about as late as I want to go.

And yep, it can be spun as a cliché, but at the end of the month, the dealership wants to round out their numbers and the salesmen want those commission checks.

Yep...I'm thinking then end of Q3 might be the right timing for us...UNLESS I decide to just keep the '13 for a while. Lots more '16s in the showrooms by then...we shall see.
