Take apart the tailgate and find the buzzer unit and cover it or remove it altogether

Open & close it manually. It doesn't beep then. At least mine doesn't...

I removed the buzzer on mine a week ago. Best thing I have done since I purchased the car.... The buzzer is located on the driver side behind the bumper. Follow the harness and it ends with a pug in for the buzzer. The down side is if you double click to confirm you locked the car there is no buzzer. However the lights blink. Also if you get out of the car with the engine running and have the key in your pocket there in no buzzer to remind you the key is in your pocket.. After I removed the buzzer i used electrical tape over the connector to prevent dirt getting into it and possibly shorting out. When I sell the car I'll put the buzzer back in.

Car Crazy for Sure!
You can program the hatch to open "manually"....no beep. It will still close "auto" with the button. When you engage the latch it unlocks and then just a little effort and the hatch lifts easily. Hmmm...I haven't tried
the button inside the cabin yet. I'm sure it will open it...not sure about the beeper!

On my Odyssey, I just disconnected the buzzer. It's a good idea to wrap the connections on a baggie with a zip tie to keep them clean for reattachment.
Now if anyone knows where I can find a replacement that does a tasteful little ding, preferably mechanical, let me know.
Someone on the Odyclub figured out what colors the wires to that buzzer were and put a switch in the rear quarter panel. But there is a cubby there in the Odyssey.
So far I have left the buzzer on my wife's RDX.

I'm sure it's tested to be a specific dB and frequency range. Prob by the Underwriters-Laboratory or similar governing body. Just like smoke alarms in a house... If you don't notice the damn beep when your battery is out... it's not gonna save your life, same goes for the tailgate.
Either way, removing or deadening the beeper in the tailgate with some electrical tape is a perfect solution.
