New Member, New 2016 RDX
Hi All,
I've been lurking on these forums for a couple of years now and finally decided to join. We presently have a 2013 RDX on lease with four months remaining.
We just leased a new 2016 RDX Tech (Canada) and are expected to pick it up in three weeks (our colour combo is not in stock so it's on it's way).
Before we made our decision we checked out almost every vehicle in the segment for comparison. Truth be told, most are really great vehicles, each with their own set of pros and cons. I'm going to go into details about the vehicles and why we chose the RDX later, but I wanted to share the "deal" we got in case it is of any use to anyone else in the Greater Toronto Area.
First, we get to hand in our existing vehicle/lease three months early, no penalties.
Second, Acura Canada offers a 2% loyalty rate reduction, so instead of the posted 2.9% interest we'll be paying 0.9%.
Third, although they claim there is a mandatory fee of $599 for admin (which includes a one year tire warranty, locking lug nuts for the wheels, vehicle etching, etc.), I got them to waive it while including the goodies in the deal.
Finally, I negotiated an additional $2,100 discount (of the available $3,600 margin).
I'm quite sure I could have done a bit better, but quite frankly time is money and I absolutely hate negotiating pricing on new vehicles. The deal is fair as far as I'm concerned.
I'll post pics of our black on parchment Tech once it arrives in case anyone wishes to see it.

Congratulations on the new purchase, the new RDX looks amazing and especially in black and double thumbs up for choosing parchment interior. I hate black leather interiors and the lighter colors tend to have a nice contrast when done correctly.
My only wish is that they would offer a few more colors. I could see it looking gorgeous with red leather, saddle leather, and a brown or chestnut colored leather. I always hate how Acura offers such little choice and such crappy exterior colors (IMHO I would love to see bright red, or blue or orange like the new NX).

Thanks (both for the welcome and the thumbs up for interior colour choice).
Our present RDX is also black on parchment and we seem to be one of the few who actually thinks parchment/tan interiors look more upscale than the black interiors. This is just one area in which the Europeans get it right.....many different interior colour options.

Well you scored a lot better than I did on my 16 Canadian Tech... I still got an ok deal in comparison I guess. I do wish I pushed a little harder though. Next time... Haha. Could it perhaps have to do with the lease vs I'm financing I wonder? Anyways, welcome!

The MDX also only offers 2 colors I believe, kind of sad really.

Do you have any pictures of your new ride to post, please? Thanks.

Congrats on the purchase! I'm out near Bowmanville and took delivery of the exact same model and colour scheme 2 weeks ago. I thought the posted lease rate was 3.9%? No? Anyway you'll love it. I do. And I love the parchment every time I open the door. I'm still learning all the tech. And, yes, I'm not totally popular right now out here in Oshawa GM land.

I only have one comment regarding interior colour, everyone has there own preferences, and that's why there is more than one colour. IMHO, the black interior is way classier than their beige not to mention always looks cleaner.

Personally I have a black leather interior in my vehicle (the RDX is for my wife), but my exterior colour is white. I'm not a fan of black on black.....too monotonous. Either way, as you said, there's a reason that manufacturers generally offer different choices for interior colours.

We picked up the wife's new 2016 RDX Tech yesterday and handed back the 2013 base. It's odd, the new one is so familiar yet so different due to the tech. The changes made, while subtle, are all very nice. Once I have a little more time behind the wheel I'll post my impressions, but so far it's looking like we made the right decision in getting another RDX.

Yup, my wife would not have agreed either had it not been for the fact that our lease was up and we had to get something. All of the European competitors were going to be significantly more money and offer less content, so it was a no-brainer.
