jacking points other than the pinch welds?

I do my own tire changes when switching from winters and summers and back, and traditionally, when I had my Murano, I would recklessly use my floor/trolley jack on the lower control arms and never had any problems.

I DO NOT intend to use the same lifting points on my RDX. For one, the lower control arms on the RDX look too spindly and I know you can bend them or damage your ball joints..

For some reason, I hate the idea of using the pinch welds on the sides (specified as jacking points in the owners manual) and would prefer to roll my floor jack underneath and use a frame rail or other heavy solid piece of the frame.
If you look under the front, the front frame rails have tow hooks welded on them, and this spot (or just aft of that) looks tempting ...I was going to lift the whole front of the vehicle at once by using a 3.5 foot long piece of 4x4 with lift pads on the ends across these two points.. (a fir 4x4 is strong enough, I have looked into this) .but I don't know if using the front frame rails can support the weight. I could use the 4x4 a little further back towards where the rails attach to the body, they look beefier there, but you can only move the jack back so far under the vehicle before you can no longer operate the pump handle...can anyone share their jacking experiences especially regarding the strength of the pinch welds (do they bend) or using other points and doing it in such a way as to be able to remove two wheels at a time with 1 jack.....THX

Use these hard nylon blocks on your floor jack. It has a cross cutout to prevent the pinch weld from bending. You can buy a second inexpensive jack from Harbor Freight if you want to do two wheels at a time.

They are sold by Protechproducts.com

Thanks very much....that pretty well addressed any concerns I had about lifting the front end. On the rear, I am pretty sure my 2014 does not have a solid lift point back there like the one shown...but I wasn't concerned about the rear anyway...
