I've seen some post about a hole in the tailgate of RDX's and I went to check mine and sure enough, there is one. It looks like this. . I recently got a car wash and there tends to be water that is trapped in there. Does anyone know if there are any holes that drain the water? Or have any of you RDX owners covered the hole with something to prevent the water from entering it?

yes there are drain holes, you will see them if you look

You'll also see that after a good wash the rear bumper area get wet no matter how many times you dry it. I figured that was coming from the drain holes.

And, as has been pointed out elsewhere, the lower half is plastic - so no rust issues.
