2016 Cargo Cover Questions
For those who have the cargo area cover, I assume that the end caps are spring-loaded, so that it is quick and easy to remove/reinstall as needed. Yes?
Bonus question: anybody know why there are different models of the cargo cover for the base and tech trim levels? Only thing I could think of was the power tailgate, but all RDXs have that...?
Thanks in advance.

You are correct and we love ours. Can't believe how easy it is to remove and I think it is one size fits all. We have the 16 RDX advance and we got it at the dealership because we were not sure if it would fit the 16 and less headaches although probably paid more I am sure. Worth every penny for us and if it would break today we would get another one although I think it is well designed

Local dealer charges $238.80, which is full retail plus $86.80 for installation. Installation takes about two minutes. Pretty easy to find a better deal.
Have you located your original covers? Mine were in with the spare.

Turns out the different models I was seeing on web sites applied to the 2013-2015 cover. For 2016, since the power tailgate is now standard on all trims, there is only one model in two colors. The websites are slow to update their listings. Found a local dealer running a coupon special on parts, so purchased from them for only about $12 more than the lowest online price I found.

You should see what they want for putting the all weather mats on the floor.

Well if anyone paid that for installation there arsehole must be sore.
That said, if you keep anything in the back you need it for privacy reasons to avoid break-ins. IMHO, this should be a standard item included with the car.
My 11 RDX has the permanent shelf unit and they should have kept it. Cost cutting I am sure.

Got the cargo cover from HandA. $120 plus shipping. It took all of 8 minutes to install, including going to get the small screwdriver from the tool box. It looks great. Color matches the tech package interior, as it should. The shipping box says it's an official Honda product. Got a cargo net, too. That took 6 minutes to install.

My dealership matched online price plus shipping. All I did was ask. Then they brought it out and installed it for me without being asked. Tipped him $5, and he was happy. They would have lost any future business from me if they tried to charge me $86+ for installation.
