Rick Hendrick buys VIN #001 - $1.2m!

Rick Hendrick's (NASCAR's Hendrick Motorsports) purchase price of 2017 Acura NSX VIN #001 for a wholloping $1,200,000 through the Barrett-Jackson Auction is a great start and sign for marketing the soon to be released new NSX.

(Noted that sale proceeds benefit non-profits...it is nonetheless a very successful marketing sale.)

Yeah. Was at a Hendrick's dealer couple years ago looking for a car for my mom and the sales manager and I were joking about how Mr. Hendrick is probably chilling on his yacht by Fiji or something.....looked up his net worth...1 billion

He's pretty much able to buy whatever he wants.

Nice to day dream about what life like that is like.

I saw the 0000000001 car out on the road this last November, just outside of Atlanta, GA. The Acura Road Testing Team had it and another 2017 NSX (Black) on a cross country trial, they had both cars wired to the hilt monitoring everything possible. You could see wires coming out of the engine compartment covered with duct tape along the exterior of the car covering the wires that were connected to a laptop computer, being monitored by the passenger. $1.2 million for a used car that went through every test imagenable, snow in Colorado, ice, mud, hydroplaning, 24 hour stress tests, and all those miles, seems a like a high price to pay for the 1st new generation car produced. Hope it was repainted to cover all the Rock chips. I would have saved a million and bought a new one without all that abuse!

2010 Acura MDX Tech 92k.
2004 Acura MDX Navi/Entertainment 145k
2003 Acura MDX Navi 166k
2001 Acura MDX Navi 239k
1999 Acura TL Navi 199k
1995 Acura NSX-T 80k
1997 Chevy Silverado 1500 104k

I Drive them till they drop, need a bigger garage, 3.5 isn't big enough!!!

VIN 000001 is the first production car for sale (not a test car). Each production car is configured to order by the buyer. So VIN 000001 is being built to Hendrick's configuration.
