SRS Light: Code 9-4 Faulty Front Passenger Seat Belt Buckle Switch
Hi,
My SRS light came on the other day and it came up with this code: 9-4 Faulty Front Passenger Seat Belt Buckle Switch.
I know it's the seat belt but is this actually a safety issue? or is it just a sensor that's not triggering to tell the car the belt has been buckled?
Does anyone know if I have replace the actual buckle?
Thanks!

Yes, you will need to replace the seatbelt buckle in order to have the SRS light off.
Call your local dealer and see if they will replace it for free. I know they do it here in the states since the buckle is part of the seatbelt components and they are under a lifetime warranty here. I've heard different things for you guys up north though.

You live in canada like me pal... U need to pay for it and install it ur self. Unless u wanna get like a 200$ bill to put in a buckle.
In America they will warranty it for free period.... So I have heard at least. Mine on the passenger side went. Likely because it rarely ever gets used.
I disconnected the battery, then installed buckle... You need to remove the seat iirc cause the connector is in the bottom burried. Then you can use the paper clip method to reset srs. There is a few diys on the net about that.
If u go through the dlr it's likely going to be 300 and up for the whole shebang
