really high idle problem
so my cl s won't stay below 4000 rpm. when I start the car it goes right up to 4000. I checked the throttle cables and the gas pedal is fine. anyone have this problem?

did you do the TB coolant delete mod? hook up a data scanner and see what the operating parameters are. 4K would be one large vacuum leak.

so I checked everything I could without digging too deep. I went to start the car again and the idling is back to normal. just went away on its own. I took it for a drive and the car shifts fine through all of its gears but when coming back down, it stays in third until I get to a complete stop before it drops straight to first gear. I was goin 20mph in 3rd. I can also put it over into manual and manually put it down into second gear. it's just not doin it on its own so I have no clue what's goin on

You mentioned you checked the tb cables but check to make sure your cruise control cable isn't super tight. Mine started doing this out of the blue and I finally figured it out. I never found out why but at one point my daughter must have hit the cruise switch on the dash and it was on forever or I may have tightened it too tight after I put my blower on. Either way it fixed the issue and hasn't happened since.
