The original had a broken tab on the corner of the passenger side, let it sit up, drove me crazy.

He had this sitting around and basically gave it to me, heck he lost .30 cents on the shipping!

Wow this thread makes me feel really damn lazy. You've had your car less time than me and I still haven't got close to the mods you do! I just finally lowered mine and am hoping to have the headers on finally in the next month...lol

This is while working 70-80 hours per week, dealing with three kids, doing projects on the house, my house in L.A. and a few other projects, I have actually slacked on this car.

Great job e30. Maybe you and civicdrivr can collaborate on a complete DIY writeup when he's done. Part numbers, pics and instructions. Again it takes guys like you to lead the way.

WOW car is comming along NIcely..

I really have to hand it to u, you did more to your can in 4 months then I did in 9 YEARS, and thats no lie..
I have a few questions, I love your IM mod (I wish I had cash for that) but my headers are first priority.. I'm down to Megan racing ($250Shipped) and the ones you have DC sport (Which i found for $375shipped) what do u think about your headers did u notice a Big difference in performance, and how dis the car sound after u put them on..
Also the infinity thing in your trunk what is it and did it make a big difference in stock system!

Thats the Infinity Basslink II. I had one in my Civic and Prelude. I loved it. Wasnt large and had a nice smooth sound to it. It was a bit on the heavy side though.

The DC Sports are great. The Basslink is good for what it is. It adds enough bass but sometimes I have to turn it up. It leaves a bunch of space that a real box would take up. I have Infinity 6.1 Perfects in front and Kappas in back, don't remember the model. Sounds pretty good.

Have you looked into putting in the intake manifold spacer from the 02-04 Oddy or 01-02 MDX? Supposed to give quite a bit more torque. The 09 manifold isn't as tall as OEM right? So you shouldn't have any clearance issues with your hood.

I paid 350.00 out the door. Then there was the P2R spacer/adapter which was 80 or so.

I know the 3rd gen manifolds are different but you would think the spacer would still produce torque on our cars, since that's what they did on the oddy and mdx. Outlaw engineering made a spacer for the CL that showed gains...why wouldn't this one work.

Sorry to e30cabrio for cluttering your thread here.

For the record I just installed the P2R manifold spacer 2 weeks and I could feel the difference when I got out after driving and touch the manifold. So it definitely helps.

PROPS to your progress.

making me jealous!!!, ur ahead of ME in the # of mods I think!

I got my car in April.

Next week i'l have a custom grille and carbon fiber acura logo to go on the grille. And then getting the XLR8 cat.

Then i think this car is done.

It wicked modding the shit outta the car, only problem is, you run out of mods to do much sooner

Are you talking about the P2R spacer between the TB & manifold? He is talking about a spacer that goes between the manifold and block. That comes from the MDX/Odyssey.

Part 8:

I have the P2R adapter between my 09 manifold & TB that is also a spacer as well as all P2R thermal gaskets.

I was done in November last year, before the manifold, cat, Neuspeed front sway and I am sure a few things I am forgetting.

Good luck with being done.

You're talking about the P2R manifold gasket, not spacer. I'm talking about part 8 above. I do believe the P2R gaskets help dissapate heat better, but i think hp gains would be very minimal...especially here in Canada where it doesn't get hot like down south.

PS, no way you're done modding.

yea yea My badd... i keep switch the names for the two.

if u WANNA be real technical.. it could be considered a spacer cause it's about 2xs thicker than the stock 1.5mm (i think) gasket

But yes.. ur right.

when I say modding I mean HP modding... srry. that's worded better.

Next thing would be port an polish the heads and manifold when I need a valve adjustment one day

I got thr 05 mdx spacer at my house. U will need to modify ur hood a bit and put washers under the hood hinges. Ill do a before and after dyno when I throw in my other engine. But the correct spacer year is the years mentioned above. Egr port is a bit furthur out in the 3rd gen tls and 05 mdx's. I have the right spacer on orde, the extended bolts are on back order

The 09 TL mani sits lower then stock, so you may not need to space the hood. The EGR port is also the revised circle instead of the oval one on the old gen Js. If I had the time Id test the spacer and see if it makes a difference with the 09 TL mani.

Did you do the work installing these parts? If not how much was the labor?
I trying to get a feel on how much this these mods cost total installed.

Yeah I hear ya, it's like that in MD. Plus some idiot put screws in the top of the license plate bracket so I cant relocate it without fixing the holes... E30C, thanks for your work and input, it's appreciated across the board.

There out in L.A. too I just got a no front license plate ticket. In Los Angeles there is a city budget crisis also and the police are doing things I have never seen them do before in L.A. to raise revenue, like motorcycle cops scanning parked cars for expired registrations and leaving tickets on the windshield. Other cities adjacent to L.A. do that and now LAPD is getting into the act.

I got a no front plate ticket in 97 in Santa Monica, at the time it was the only city on the west side of L.A. that gave tickets for that.

What do you mean my trans mounts were broken????
