before anyone asks, yes I put collision back on the policy before I drove it. It has been regularly started and run but not driven since September 2014
So I drive it to work and wow, that feeling of awesomeness came back... Sure do miss that 3.2L especially when compared to the 2.5L Subaru which is my DD.
so now on to the story
so yesterday morning on my way home from work...
I pull up to the light and stop since it is red and I am sitting there patiently waiting for it to turn green... Suddenly the car behind me (a 2002 Sebring) slams into me and this is the result
This will be the third time that the rear bumper assembly has been replaced due to being rear ended...
Other driver states that she is sorry and that she fell asleep. I just took a picture of her policy page from her insurance and said I hope you are ok and have a nice day.

You got bumped not slammed into. You are lucky, and so is the car. A big rear end collision can not only magle the car but often causes serious neck and or back trauma. So in a weird way you are lucky. The driver who hit you is an idiot. So what r u going to do, replace and remain or get a different bumper and change the style up a bit?

Thanks for answering the question. And no you did not get slammed in to... If you did the car would be a write off. Talk to someone who did. They will have permanent back issues. This is why I said you are lucky, I am not trying to belittle you by saying what I did. I was saying you are lucky. But clearly you want to be right.
I guess we have different definitions of what getting slammed into is. I can agree on that

It must be something with these cars I've been bumped twice at stop lights just sitting there.
My damage was even less but both were maybe 5-10 mph of speed upon contact.
I don't see that hit being anymore than 15mph or they would've cause even more damage.
The thing that sucks is your going to end up with a miss colored bumper out of it.

Bumped or slammed it still sux. I got slammed (IMO... it was an 18 wheeler and the rear wheels came up off the ground) in my '85 z31 and my bumper was fine but the right 1/4 panel was folded a bit. I straightened that out and kept the car another 2 years. No neck or back injuries. Sometimes you do get lucky.
The truck driver asked me why I stopped The light was red

Crazy. I got rear ended twice last year!
When I took it in to have it replaced, all rr. bumpers were on backorder. Not sure if that has changed but I had to have mine repaired. It looks good but since the other clown's insurance were paying i wanted new (duh!) - no-go. :/
All good though

plus the trans is of unknown reliability since I had it replaced at 71K there was an issue with fluid getting dirty within 15K miles... turns out 4th gear pressure switch on new unit was bad but didn't throw a code until 136K miles on car or 65K on new trans

aware the car in front of him stopped
hits them anyways bcuz why u stop?
There are definitely some people in this world that need their licenses revoked permanently.
and my rear bumper has had to be replaced twice since I owned this car. In both cases someone bumped my car while it was parked.
