I am extremely sensitive to VNH and there has been no change in any category.
The car rides exactly as it did before except the brakes are better.

That is a really neat valve, too bad the year of vehicle starts at 1993.
Again, the brakes are great, I have driven almost one thousand miles on them and they are a-ok.

e30cabrio, looks like you beat me to the punch. You must be the guy that Paul also fabricated the bracket for. You're a lucky bastard since I ate the cost of sending my calipers and a rotor to him to do the mockup. I'm just playing though. It's all good. Just had a chance last night to install my '06 RL Calipers.
I used G2 Caliper Epoxy paint system and clear coated the unpainted letters. Anyhow, here are my pictures...

I think Im going to order a hub centric ring for the rotor though, theres a slight gap between it and the hub.
I still need to rebleed them as the pedal is a bit mushy, but I couldnt stay out there in the rain doing it. I dont mind the cold, but toss in the rain I become frustrated.

the rotor's hat is thinner then the stock one, so the reason for the hub sticking out more
also the rotor being centered, not much to do for moving it around, casue the lug nut studs seem to already be a tight fit through the rotor, so should already be centered, so it be more piece of mind having that
also it is more the wheel that is more critical to getting a snug fit on the hub itself (which you do with the RJ's), cause not only does it center the wheel (which the tapered lugs would do too), it also takes alot of the load (weight of the car) off the lugnuts, and making those completely doing everything, when never being designed to from the factory (so they only have to hold the wheel aginst the hub and not also take side loading)

would u know or anybody else know if this new acura rl setup will clear and work with the RJ inspires 19 inche wheels. I dont wanna have to change too much to make this work if I decide to go this route.
i believe the ronjon wheels are RonJon Inspyres 19x7.5 with a +50 Offset
(how does the proportioning valve work ?)

The Inspyres do not work with these. E30 tried them first but he would have to run a spacer.

so deleted it cause it was irrelevant, but yeah running spacers should fix any clearance issues with the caliper, only thing might be the clearance to the body with the tire, but that all matters on his setup and such

It really depends on the barrels & spokes. I had 19" RJ Inspyres that did not clear.

Most high offset wheels wont clear a BBK. You need a wheel that specifically states it is a high disc design.
If the wheel can clear the Brembos on the 3rd Gen TL, they will clear these.
If the wheel can clear the Brembos on the 3rd Gen TL, they will clear these.

I flushed all the brake lines when I installed them at all corners. The pedal was super mushy until reflushed the lines a day later after also activating the ABS to get any potential air out of the ABS controller. This solved the problem.
I went with the EBC Yellowstuff Pads and they took about 1000 miles to bed in. It's been about 1500 miles now and I'm really loving this setup. When cold, it feels like my stock oem ceramic and oem TL auto calipers do, but after a few stops, they produce a very powerful bite and modulation/feel is excellent.
I was unable to fit my OEM 04-06 TL 17's on without grinding down the custom brake bracket studs a little on the edges. The studs kept rubbing the inside of the wheel when I tried to spin the wheel. I also had to scrape off the wheel weights to clear the caliper itself. I use those wheels for alignments only anyhow so it wasn't a big deal. I can imagine that I'd have maybe a mm of clearance if I went with the 13" Nismo rotor and continued using the OEM TL wheels. What I like about Paul's bracket is that we can always go to larger rotors by simply adding 2 washers to each bracket stud.

Yea, he mocked mine up with my Powerslot rotors. My EBC pads took about 800 miles to bed in fully, and coming to stops in the bed-in period was embarassing due to the loud squeel from them. It went away though, and the car stops HARD. I had the mushy pedal feeling too for alittle while but it firmed up. Ive been meaning to pick up better fluid and do a complete flush. I had to grind off a bit of the stud as well when I went with the 18s. Out of all the mods to my car though, this ranks in the top 2 (the other being the motor build).

E30 is running the 17" TL wheels. But the stock 2nd gen 17s definately wont fit.
If the wheels will clear the 3rd gen 6MTs Brembos, they'll clear these.
