Must...brag...

Something incredible just fell in my lap...I live in Chicago, my sister lives with her family in Seattle. Long story short; down the road from there, a Microsoft programmer put up his Acura CL for sale. My brother in law went to check it out and lo and behold...a 6MT sat there, giving itself away...2003 Acura 3.2CL Type S with 6 speed manual; 78000 original miles, perfect condition and here is the best part...guy has had it for 10 years and drove about 5K miles a year. He had the timing belt (full job with water pump, pulleys, tensioners and belts) replaced at Acura dealership at 72K miles. Now for the most awesome part: He had the clutch replaced with it too! $4500 bill, paid and he has proof and receipts. He takes it to the dealership for everything, even to wash it. I said what does he want for it? Answer: $7000 non negotiable. I left work, went to Chase, wired the money, long story even shorter: it is parked at my sister's house, waiting for me to jump on a one-way flight and embark on a 2000 mile journey home in what I consider the best Honda car ever made (personal opinion). My TL is amazing, I love her but she is aging, same year same motor but auto and 173K miles...I have new suspension (Eibach) and tires (General AS03) on my TL so I plan to hot swap suspension and tires (the wheels on the CL are 10 times better shape then my TL's). Once I'm done with all that, TL will be ready for a new chapter with a new owner. I am so excited I can't hold still. I'll have some pics soon. I am a seasoned manual trans driver so there will be no abuse or neglect there. I think of cars like I think of women...be hard and gentle at the same time

Yes, that's him! I know because after the car was already at my sister's house, me and him started emailing back and forth talking about Acuras and he told me he's been on this forum since 2005 under the name "spat". Where did you see that ad? I'm curious to see the pictures because I bought it sight unseen pretty much. Thanks

I fly out to Seattle on June 16....she's all set (registered and insured) - my brother in law sent me the title and bill of sale, I registered it in Illinois and mailed him the plates with all paperwork. So he's driving it back and forth to pick up my nephew couple of times a week just to keep the juices flowing and tires spinning. I'll have some great pics from the trip home (2018 miles from their driveway to mine). I'll have 5 days to get home so I plan to stop at some beautiful landmarks in Idaho, Montana and North Dakota. As I'm driving back alone, the CL will be the star of my pictures. I'll update once I pick her up. So far the feedback I'm getting from my brother in law is that she rides like a dream. The fact it is 100% bone stock just makes me love her even more

Forgot to mention that I sold the TL - nice guy with Honda/Acura history bought it from me. I sold it with all mods, didn't keep anything for CL as I'm not sure yet if I want to keep her 100% stock because of how rare it is or go insane hardcore tuning.

There is a lot to be said for keeping it stock. However since from your description and enthusiasm the car sounds like a long term keeper. That being the case doing mods that appeal to you totally makes sense. I was the one that was inline right behind you on that car, (we corresponded on utube). The green from the envy is still showing around the edges a bit !
