So, I tried doing some research on finding the best low beam bulb without going to the dealer and there too many option to choose from so ill ask the community. The driver side is starting to flicker and one side is a blueish white color and the other side is more a white looking color (it doesn't look right to me ill put up some pics tonight) does that mean one is going bad? Where should I shop and get some new bulbs?

You have D2R bulbs in the factory housings. Buy any pair of quality D2R bulbs from Philips, Osram or Sylvania and you'll be fine.

I didn't even know Morimoto made D2R bulbs. That's the only "economical" brand I'd go with outside of the big names. I have a set of their D2S bulbs in a pair of FX-R projectors and they're decent. Not nearly as bright as the Philips I have in a different pair of projectors.

Friend of mine had an extra pair of D2S bulb( he claims it to be universal with multi fitments) from Morimoto 5500k that he used in his M35X but said they weren't white enough. I am thinking he didn't have them in very long for them to set to the right color. I know our cars are D2R but ill see if these will work

Using D2S bulbs in a non-projector housing designed for D2R bulbs is akin to putting HIDs in headlights that were not originally intended for them.

So if my HID is flickering, I was under the impression I had to change the ballast too. Is this correct?

Generally flickering is indicative of ballast failure, not so much bulb. Bulb failure will manifest in discoloration of the light, typically turning pink before dying outright. Morimoto makes excellent replacement ballasts as in the case of the older Acuras, I wouldn't go back to OEM

Newer OEM ballasts are generally better than the Morimoto products, though all I own are Morimoto ballasts. The Acura ballasts are at least 13 years old at this point and based off of a 16 year-old design. Even the midrange aftermarket ones are better than the OEM CL ballasts at this point.

The benefit to the OEM ballasts is that they attach to the bottom of the headlight and package nicely out of the way so that they are installed and removed along with the headlight. To replicate this with an aftermarket ballast would involve a lot of work.

FYI, for those who are interested in going aftermarket for their HID system replacement, you should check out the brand Kensun. Their systems are plug n play at reasonable prices and comes with a 2 year warranty.

A pair of replacement HID bulbs are about $30.

sorry it took a while to load up a picture. Here is a better example of what I was talking about, the driver side light is white and the passenger side is bluish white. would this be a bulb issue or a ballast issue?

it's the bulb. either one is newer or one is a 6000k and one a 5000k bulb.

Are those the Morimoto ones you got from your friend? Depending on how long they've been used it may take awhile to get to full white.

it must be a newer bulb and I am just realizing this now. I never changed the bulbs since I have owned it about 4 years now

No. I gave them back since they weren't the right fitment. also, the driver side one is the one the start to flicker after about 10min would that be a problem with the ballast?

This. Don't go with the non name brand bulbs unless you want to replace them far sooner or have silly light issues.

Finally got around to changing the low beam bulbs today only took me about 20min and there was no need to remove the bumper you can see how the bulbs are different so im guessing previous owners have been in there before

Went up too 6000K seems like I lost a slight bit of light on the road not sure what the stock ones were but the new ones look pretty sweet

These were the old lights in my car. The new ones I ordered from hidauotvision but you don't have to go through them
