Post Engine swap

2003 cl S type. Purchased engine from eBay. Turns out it is a J32 A1 vice A2. What hoops do I have to go through to make it run in the type S. Plenum is different and have heard that the fuel injection system is different. Will the A2 intake fit on A1? If I change out intake and fuel injection will the type s computer still work? Will the cam sensor be ok? Any help would greatly appreciated.

automatic or manual CL? why downgrade? if you're auto, put in a J35A3!

Is there no recourse for sending it back?

Can't send it back. Also have started install. Only noticed the A1 after installing block into car. My bad. I was thinking about getting an a1 plenum and reflashing computer . Don't know if that will work.

Are the a1 and a2 blocks the same? I know the heads are different.

I believe the blocks are the same. Heads, cam, fuel injection and intake are different I believe.

If it was me, I would try and sell j32a1 and get j32a2 or j35a3 instead.

If block is same can you use block with type s heads and not have to deal with fuel injection?

Seems like a lot of work for a downgrade. Wish I had more knowledge on subject to help you, sorry.

The block itself is the same thing as the J35A1/4 block from the '99-'04 Honda Odyssey. It's not the same as the J32A2/J35A3 block with the increased webbing support.

The rotating assembly is the same as the J32A2 with the exception of the pistons to achieve a lower compression ratio.

I'm with everyone else. I would chock this up as a loss and get a different J32A2 or J35A3.

It wouldn't be a simple "reflash" of the ECU as you said. You'd have to go out and buy an ECU from a J32A1 which means spending even more money to make it work and losing power in the process.
