Car has intermittent stalls

I have a 2003 CL Type S 6MT with 163k miles.

In the past month, I have had two stalls on me. It always happens in the morning, after filling up. I get in the car, press the clutch, and turn on the car. Before releasing the clutch or even getting into gear, the car revs will slow down to zero. If I turn the key and start up again, everything is fine.

Any idea what could be happening or where I should start looking?

hey wackjum!

it seems as if the car isnt getting enough air or fuel, or both.
first things i would check are; if any vacuum hoses are disconnected or rotted, carbon in the EGR valve, and also some other thing that gets clogged with carbon on your cars, i forgot the name of it. if i remember or come across the name, i'll def. swing back in and tell you.
hope others see this as well.

Hi Justnspace.

Thanks for the quick response. I have some time today so I'm going to take the intake manifold off and start cleaning in there. I woke up not feeling the weather, so I skipped the car meet today. Working on cars is the next best thing.

Sooo...

I got the intake plenum off. Man the EGR was just a gooey mess. It took a good hour with tons of throttle body cleaner and a steamer to clean it all out.

And my 13 years old throttle body gasket pulled itself apart. It took me well over 5 hours to scrape off the residue with some credit cards.

We'll see if this stops the stalling, but the car seems to start up quicker now.
