Brake Squeeeeel

Brake Squeeeeel
I just put new rotors and pads on the front of my 2001 CL Type-S. I took it for a test drive and now have a very high pitched squeal while driving. Constant. It sounds like metal on metal and not typical brake noise.
There are clips in the caliper that sort of hold the pads in place and I am guessing that is what's rubbing against the new rotor. That's a guess, I didn't pull the wheel after the test drive.
Anyone else have this issue?
If that is the issue, what about removing those clips? I've had several different vehicles that don't have those on the calipers, the pads just slide in and are held by the piston.
Thanks.

Pulled the wheel and saw that the dust shield was bent inwards a bit but not making contact. The clip holding the pads in was a bit wanky and that was the culprit. A little bending and snipping and the squeal is gone.
Thanks.
Thanks.
