The price for that mount is a bit ridiculous.

XLR8 has mounts for the 6-speed. They are the only vendor offering an alternative to the rear mount you speak of other than Innovative from Heeltoe. Better yet, to save money, if you find that you specifically need the rear mount and want to go new OEM for the front and side, they (XLR8) will sell you the rear only. Or, you can do all three with the durometer of your choice. However, be prepared to minimally modify the XLR8's to get them to fit, it has been known that sometimes fitment can be off as a result of manufacturing.

Most definitely, one of my favorite places. You can pick up the front and side mounts for the 6-speed at almost a 50% savings over OEM. The rear is another story.

If you are talking to me, the rear does not have vacuum, only the front on the 6-speed.

However, the CL auto trans. has vacuum on the front/rear mount, #3 & #7 on link below:

What if you poly filled the rear mount and reused it?

I suppose if the rear OEM mount is not torn and you want to poly fill them to reuse that is an option. It all depends on personal preference. If you are a DIY'er, than there is no labor cost to you, other than your time.

Removing the rear mount on the 6-speed is not easy, but doable, if you have a set of decent tools and are adventurous; otherwise, one may want to leave that install to a mechanic.

Good luck!

Sounds like only thing you are willing to pay for is aftermarket oe replacements.

Do those mounts last as long as oem, etc.? That needs to be considered in price and also extra labor if have to replace more frequently.

Torque dampers can prolong the life of mounts.

Yeah I tried to order the rear mount back in ~2012, just before Xmas, at my local dealer. He got back to me and told me Honda said it was discontinued. I then checked acuraoemparts.com a few weeks later and it showed up as being available again. I contacted my go to guy at local dealer and he looked into it. So we ordered it in Jan, it came in to dealer in May. The price was ~$150 from what I remembered. I'm thinking Honda USA just did a limited run of the mounts with their supplier and waited until they got enough people on the wait list to do a batch of mounts.

I checked the middle of last year just for the hell of it to see if it was discontinued yet as I expected it would be sometime, but then saw the $700 price tag?! So now I think Honda is just making the price worth their time to special order it from their supplier, to do a special run. Our CLS6's are the only Honda car that uses it.

Glad I got mine back in early 2013!

I guess i should chime in here.
Well, i've been doing a little feather ruffling at honda.
First off, the oem rear motor mount 50810-S3M-A01 is in plenty supply.
95 of them to be exact (according to acura customer relations)
thats $72,000 worth of motor mounts

Then i got to thinking, this motor mount is only found on
3500 CL's with manual trannies from 2003. a 13 year old car.
Half these cars are sure to have been junked and crushed by now.
So i estimate 1750 of theses cars left.
and only a small percentage of these cars need a rear mount.
and an even smaller percentage of people know that they need it.
and an infinitesimally small percentage are willing to pay $724, versus just going with a $120 poly mount.
(Just pointing out the lack of demand here, especially with respect to time.)

Historically, this rear mount was in the $150 zone.
and then it dawned on me, """KEYSTROKE ERROR""".
(have you ever looked at where the number 7 and the number 1 is on your phone,
versus where it is on the right of a PC keyboard - Flipped isn't it)
Typically a price might move 20% up or 20% down.
(that would be a reasonable and expected adjustment to a price, for a part that is in low demand.)
BUT for some reason, the price jumps 480% ....no i don't think so.

so the actual price should be somewhere between $120 and $180.
(this is not a hydraulic mount, it's classic rubber with a hole in it)

So I got on the phone to Honda customer relations department.
what a huge let down,
They aren't willing or aren't able to contact the parts pricing department that keystroked that crazy ass $724.
They simply tell me, "well, i checked the price on my computer, so there's no error, oh and thank you for calling"

They are there, simply make excuses for honda.
I asked them, "isn't it possible there's a price error".
Their attitude is - "honda can't make mistakes"

And i have literally herd the craziest shit from them.
Like "Well, uhm, it's connected to the cars ECM"
one girl actually told me today, that it's currently at $1300+

I encourage all of you to simply call and present them with
"a definite ERROR that has been made".
explain the historical cost of this part,
and the fact that so few cars exist that might need it,
and that no one will ever buy it at this price.
and that a 480% price jump is not acceptable
nor is it the way "Honda" does business with their long time customers.
Don't become hostile or riled up,
but don't take any shit either, like...:
"sir, are you just trying to negotiate the price"
"Nooo..... There's been an error."
Tell them, that checking their computer for the price is not a sufficient way to find out that an error was made.

Perhaps if enough of us call, the price will be fixed

50810-S3M-A01

Good Luck

(I forgot to ask them how many they have sold at this price)
i bet none
