Acura CL transmission swap....is it real?
My 2001 CL transmission just locked up in first gear. Car runs fine just stuck in first gear.
I want to get it fixed so my choices are few....either get the transmission rebuilt (over 2000)....find a used transmission (who knows how long that will last)....or find a swap from another model of Acura that might last longer. I have read about 2007 honda v6 that has the same bolt pattern also an tranny in one of the vans (cant remember which).
Does anyone have a solution? OR should I try to sell it as is?

You'll have to weigh the cost benefit as to whether it makes sense to fix it.
go to the 2nd gen TL section and find the thread called AV6 swap FAQ or something like that. All the info is there.

I have purchased new, had two rebuilt and have done the Accord swap.
New CL for our 01-03 doesn't fix the design problem, rebuilt lasts a couple years, new accord bolts right on and takes a lot of abuse with no issues.
I had mine done at Acura dealer, there were no issues since day 1. Everyone here recommended it and you'll find long threads about the problems and dilemma with our bad designed transmissions.
