4th Gen TL Intake Manifold Questions

I'm looking to upgrade to the 4th Gen TL intake manifold. What is the best TB to pair up with it? I'm looking at the 76mm TB's with the P2R adaptor. Looking at the Skunk 90mm but I'm not sure if that will mount or even make sense to use.

The opening on the intake manifold is a true 76mm, and the Prank Parts adapter holds the 76mm the entire way through. The P2R adapter is only 70mm. It's also made like crap, too. Dirt track racers put more "form" in their fabrication designs than that part. Don't let the product images online fool you. It's just a square with rounded corners now.

I'm using a billet BLOX 76mm with the Prank Parts adapter. The only reason I would do something different would be to get the 74mm K-series throttle body that retains cruise control. Otherwise you can expect to lose that.

Are you referring to the Skunk 74mm TB? Skunk 2 K-Series 74mm Black Series Pro Series Throttle Body 309-05-0095 - Throttle Body

No, this one from Hybrid Racing.

Hybrid Racing K-Series Throttle Body Hybrid Racing

If I ever go full standalone I'll convert to drive-by-wire and use the '08+ Civic Si throttle body with an 80mm insert. Maxbore does a really good one that's not too expensive. I would just need to open the inlet to the intake manifold a bit, but it has a little room.

So it looks like the Hybrid Racing TB is a straight swap? No CEL worries? This is my DD so I don't want to deal with swapping parts out to go through inspection or deal with idle or drivability issues

I don't believe it is. It has the bolt pattern of an early K-series. An adapter would have to be made.

Just buy prank parts adapter and 74mm Blox tb. My 4th Gen tl IM opening is 74mm, not 76. If you look at pics on prank parts site, they use 74mm Blox tb and it lines up perfectly with opening.

Going any bigger is rather pointless. Exhaust will be the restriction.

After going back and looking through my old pictures, you're right. It's not quite 76mm. However, it's not 74mm, either.
