I'm in no hurry whatsoever guys. I wish there was more to post. I mean, I told my wife she'd have a parking spot in the garage this winter but I told her that last year too. I don't know, it might happen.

I've never even driven the CL other than when I accidentally rebuilt the front passenger's corner with four lug accord parts cause they were cheap and I needed to get it turned around cause the neighbors were getting lippy. We moved recently. I'm balls deep in a kitchen remodel too. Done all the work myself except the counter tops. I wanted to laminate them my self. I watch YouTube. I could have done it and been the hero but my wife apparently doesn't like heros. She married me after all.

What at do I absolutely need to keep off the CL?

memory seats? I plan on swapping the door and ignition cylinders so I can keep the CL key. I might as well get the security and memory seats. They are almost the same systems.
What else is there I should swap?

I have had the opportunity to fully strip one car in my life. I kept everything except the unibody.

Absolutely everything that could be physically removed from the chassis was, with the exception of the stationary windows which were bashed out with a crowbar for drunken family fun night.

Everything got boxed up and labeled, mostly ending up in the attic or on the side of the house (doors, body panels, etc.) because "just in case".

Then I moved, took a lot of it, sent some of it to the dump, and gave some of it away; keeping all the stuff that could possibly be used or made to work in a bind. So all the harnesses, interior panels were stripped for their fabric in case I needed to recover something, kept a lot of the interior parts that might be needed to franken-fix something. By far the most useful thing has been the "bucket of bolts" that I can dig through whenever I need one for a random project.

So, as a whore-der, I'd say "keep it all".

That's probably not what you wanted to hear because it's exactly what you wanted to hear.

This damn thing is so rusty, I'm breaking bolts off left and right. Just broke one off that holds the clutch slave cylinder. I'm gonna have to figure out a way to drill it out without fucking up the aluminum trans case. I'm kinda pissed right now.

Sounds like you just need a cutoff wheel instead of a socket

I could search but I don't wanna. What is this? There's a solenoid valve mounted on the back valve cover, connected to a butterfly of some kind on the intake. It's not on the j35a1 outta the Ody.

That's the imrc motor. It is what opens the butterflies in the manifold at 4000 rpms. There's a control unit for it under the dash you'll need to make it work in the Odyssey.

Back at it today. Things are way tighter and a lot rustier than the Odyssey. I won't be sad to see this car ripped apart. Ratchet straps for the win.

You guys in warmer climates got it so good. The lower radiator hose clamp just broke into pieces when I grabbed it with pliers. I'm starting to be afraid of what's next. It's so rusty.

At a roadblock now. Gotta get a Honda crank tool. It wants to roll if I use the breaker bar with the Trans in gear.

OMG that crank pulley bolt sucked so bad. I hate to be such a downer but holy Christ this sucks. I broke one 1/2" extension and twisted the longer one by at least 30 degrees. I eventually got it to pop though. The sad part is I'm out of energy for the night. At this rate she's never gonna park in the garage.

i had pulled my engine out and in the bed of my truck, thinking i could just pop it loose with an air impact at work. WRONG. it took 3 people to hold engine from turning, the crank pulley tool, and a super long breaker bar with 2 people pulling on it for it to come loose. i feel your pain.

This needed to be ground to get the fulcrum pin out.

The new brake arm bottoms out after an inch at most.

Started on the pedals today. I figured I'd be able to use the Acura's pedals. It's not looking like it's gonna be that easy. Using the Acura's gas pedal will move it I've about two inches. I built a hybrid brake pedal with the Ody's bracket and the CL's arm but it bottoms out well before it should. I'm probably going to have to torch the Ody's brake arm to bend it like the CL's. I then have to move some junk to get the clutch pedal mounted. I will probably have to modify that as well.

From what I've heard, the brake pedal is hardened steel so that it doesn't deflect during panic braking. I've also heard of hotrodders doing exactly what you mentioned, heating it and bending it, bit a lot of the hardened strength will be lost if you don't post treat it.

For safety sake it might be worth a junkyard visit or something to find a brake pedal arm that seems like it would fit without bending.

So my buddy came over and had a look at it and told me I was over thinking it. After looking at our 2004 Ody's, it looks like things might be fine. There appears to be as much travel with one arm as there is with the other. it's getting close now. But probably not tonight.

With a project like this, any progress is good progress.

Nothing wrong with making sure everything is going to work before you get in to the heavy lifting and refitting.

Excited to see the pics of the transplant. Hopefully no hiccups along the way.

Ordered Manzo headers, a Luk clutch kit, and a Luk flywheel today. There's a Honda mechanic that used to be the service manager at the local dealership. He's got his own shop. He said that if I bring him the engine and the parts, he'll do timing belt, cam seals, front and rear main seals, water pump, tensioner, valve adjustment and install the clutch for $180. I was expecting two or three times that amount to be honest. I've got the IMRC system and most of the ECU figured out. I think I have the cruise control figured out. I'd like to get the keyless entry swapped over as well. I might get lucky and be able to program the CL's keyfob to work with the Odyssey's receiver. That would be sweet.

I'm skeptical that you'll be able to make the CL fob work with the Ody receiver.

I spent a little bit of time looking at the RF for various Honda keys and there isn't a lot of cross-platform compatibility. You might get lucky though.

But you're elbows deep in this swap so I bet a little key fob hacking wouldn't be out of your realm at the end of the project.
