01 cl code P1399

I have a 2001 Acura CL 3.2 Premium with 223,000 miles and it has been running fine but yesterday I went to the mall and when I got back in to my car to leave the check engine light came on and it was flashing. The engine seemed like it was shaking more than it should be and the exhaust was making a bogging sound. When I plugged in my scanner it read the code P1399 which is random/multiple misfire. My friend thinks it might be my catalytic converter but I'm not to sure. My question is has anyone else had this problem and does anyone know what else the problem could be or to confirm that it is the catalytic converter. I'm going to run to autozone now to go get some new spark plugs and a new air filter to see if that helps at all.

How often do u change ur plugs?

The longer u leave them in there the harder the coils have to work when the plugs begin to lose their prime.

I change my plugs with iridiums.. Not the lazer iridiums. Every two years or so. My theory is changing the I ones more often than u should is better than buying the best plugs and leaving em in there for 5-7 years like they recommend.

I would start with plugs. Clear the codes with the scanner. See what happens. Make sure u get iridium, not platinum.

I bought NGK Iridium IX plugs model #ZFR5FIX-11 last night. I am about to go put them in right now and I'm going to check each coil while I'm at it. I bought K&N air filter along with a K&N cabin air filter, not that that matters... This is going to be the first time that I've changed out the spark plugs ( I've had my CL for about 1 1/2 maybe 2 years now. I have know clue when they were last changed. ) But hopefully this does the trick but with my luck who knows. lol
I'll post an update once I finish..... Wish me luck!!
