I'm not planning to go back for 3 weeks but will PM you when I'm there and maybe we can meet up.

Gotta keep an eye on the Charlotte Chat thread during the week. Sometimes University, sometimes South Park. There are usually a few AZ regulars there, and occasionally more than a few.

Home for two weeks then back to Charlotte for a week. I love that their airport code is CLT.

Ravi what exactly do you do on these trips? Just meetings, or is it more than that?

I guess I'm asking if there is no way you could get everything accomplished with a group video chat or something similar.

Video chat won't work. Not normal in my industry. Some of these trips require me being on site.

I'm in your neck of the woods today. Flying out of Nashville back home later.

I'm jealous that you get warm weather.

I'm driving to Norwalk CT tomorrow for a meeting. Then I have to head down to Hamilton NJ to drop off my car for service. I think I'll be in the car for 9-10 hours tomorrow. Still better than going to the office.

Well the days I'm not working at Honda, I'll be on-call for dealer trades for a local Chevrolet and Subaru dealer. Already went up to Renton (near Seattle) on Friday so we'll see what this week brings, if anything.

Remind me...when are you coming up next?

I found a local family-owned burger joint that has made me essentially forget about In-N-Out.

I drove up to Norwalk CT today, then down to Hamilton NJ, then to the office in King of Prussia, then home. About 450 miles. I ditched the TL at Hamilton Honda for the timing belt service.

Tomorrow I have to drive up to a customer in Jessup PA, back to Hamilton NJ to get my car and back home. Maybe another 420 miles. At least most of that is in a loaner.

Wednesday I fly to Louisville for a day.

The best part is that the mileage reimbursement for this week will pay for more than half of the work I need to have done on the car.

well i would hate driving that much..

but for me, i really would love to fly around the country and stay in shitty hotels and eat shitty food and visit small unknown cities

maybe after so many years of it, it'll get old. but for me right now. id love to have a job that allowed me to do that.

90% is (probably) an exaggeration.

OTOH, here's how it usually goes:

- 3:30 PM Pack your stuff;
- 4 PM drive to the airport and haul your stuff to the shuttle bus.
- Check in; haul you stuff through a jam packed airport
- Stand on line for security; haul your stuff through security
- Haul your stuff to you gate through a jam packed airport.
- 5:30 PM stand on line to board; haul your stuff on to the plane; overhead won't close; move your stuff.
- 6 PM take off; fall a sleep
- 7:30 PM land, wake up, collect your stuff and haul it off the airplane, through a packed airport, onto a shuttle bus and to the rental car place.
- 8:15 meet colleague, drive 1 hour 30 mins;
- 9:45-ish, check in, haul your stuff through the hotel, log on to AZ and post for while with the TV running.

7:30 AM meet colleage for breakfast, go to customer site.
2:00 PM drive colleague 1 hr 30 mins to airport
3:30 PM return to hotel to make 5PM conf call.
6:30 Dinner with customer.
9:00 PM back to the hotel, email 'til 11-ish, post on AZ for a while.

I'm sure the glamour will start any minute.

I'm enjoying this while I can...

- 3:30 PM Pack your stuff;
- 4 PM Wife drops you off at private jet center
- Check in; read a magazine for 5 minutes and enjoy a beer.
- Don't stand in line for security; someone else hauls your stuff
- 4:10 PM Plane takes off, chit-chat with the other 10 passengers
- 6:00 PM Plane arrives, someone hauls your stuff
- 6:10 PM Your rental car or private driver is just outside the tarmac
- 6:30 PM Meet with client
- 7:00-ish Dinner with client, BS-ing in the guise of small talk, sports etc.
- 9:00-ish Post-dinner drinks
- 12:00-ish Dropped off at hotel

- 9:00 AM Meet with client, do presentation/demonstration
- 10:00 AM Get a fat check signed
- 11:00 AM Get picked up, hop on private plane, take off
- 2:00 PM Wife picks me up
- 5:00 PM Dinner

Bearcat and Ken - You both suck.

I usually have to wake up at 4:00 so I can get the first flight out. The last 2 days I drove about 900 miles and left home at about 6:30 AM.
